It's on left side. Don't look for a button, it's a big rectangle.

Just seen Overkill’s YouTube and it’s as you say. Must be the new update patch I haven’t received yet which made the change.

Prob solved anyway.

I have only made two short flights with the new version so this is a really a first impression.

First and foremost, warm thanks to Flyingiron to keep working on this bird. Their commitment is appreciated. Serious and good people.

They have done a lot of improvements to the aircraft interface. Two brownie points :

- The tablet is a little jewel. A lot of infos including the checklist, the weather parameter and flight parameters. Really an impressive piece of kit.

- At last, a GPS to cruise  and do approach. The warbirds are not only screenshot fodder but also great cruiser if they have some decent nav equipment.

I haven't had flown the Spit' for a while. As I recall, she was a little springy in the air. The flying feels better now but the aircraft is still a little light.  I have to re-tune my joystick.

I haven't tried the new release yet but the Spitfire IX had very light elevator controls. From the DCS forums where the FM developer was describing how you need silk hands or a longer stick: "As Spitfire has neutral stability there is only 3/4" of stick travel to stall as it was reported by NACA".

Anyone else having trouble with the tablet? It's not working for me. I reckon the plane is not compatible with the SU7 beta.

Are you seeing the tablet hot spot? It's the big rectangle on the lower left side, right next to the seat. You have to kind of click drag it, and it will start to fly into place. Really.

Yes, I can get the tablet into place but it's unresponsive. I've since discovered that the tablet of the Just Flight Arrow is also dead. So it's obviously some conflict with another mod (or even the recent windows update) which I cant seem to narrow down. Oddly enough the tablet of the Turbo Arrow works fine.

I remember I had trouble with the SHIFT-Z mod that shows your framerate and other info in left corner.

Ah! I try it later.

EDIT: I couldn't wait and removed Shift-Z and Bingo! You nailed it and saved me endless hours of troubleshooting. You have my sincere thanks!! (I'm a bit scunnered though as I quite liked Shift-Z)

2nd Edit: Sadly it's still playing up. I thinks it's the same issue the CRJ has with the SU7 beta. Restarting the flight seems to solve it.

For me it's in no side / clickspot at all...

After a few days waiting for the update - Nothing ! NADA ! NILL...

I made the mistake of buying from the Marketplace - never again....

  • 2 weeks later...

Just thought I'd mention for info that the tablet problem I was having with the Spitfire I eventually tracked down to a conflict with the HeavyDivision 787 mod. This may be of help to others with the issue.
