December 19, 20214 yr The C22Y Ventura trainer is at the Marketplace for $9.99. I was reading at the devs website and clicked on Buy it at SimMarket. It is $7.14 converted from Eurors until early January. Nothing unique or earth shattering but a great flying small twin jet powered plane that handles quite nice. Easy to read steam gauges, retractable, shaped like a jellybean, side by side seating, decent speed and range. Original documentation from rw trainer plus an updated Quick Start guide. Several YT reviews, one by Chock. Surprisingly good sound package, full aerobatic, clean lines, and additional repaints and panel colors already available at flightsim.to The rw C22Y designer played a role in the development of the sim model and was the chief beta tester. Good dynamics. Textures could be better, but, it is what it is at give away pricing. Highly recommended. December 19, 20214 yr Author It is a C-22J model, not Y (typo) by Caproni http://machdiamonds.com/caproni.html Here is the history with a couple of short videos of prototype manufacturing and early flight testing. The gear retraction looks a lot like the Cessna 210 from the late 60s, but, it tucks away nicely. Only two, maybe 3 were ever built. It can still function as a sailplane. Climb to 12-15,000 ft and turn off most everything. Makes for a nice quiet glide to a landing. Visibility like the A21 Self Launching glider that was used in the basic design. Don’t forget to lower the landing gear or not. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

For the cost of a couple coffees it’s a really fun aircraft, granted it’s not something I’d fly most every time but when the urge hits me it’s really fun to have in the hanger. For those interested, be aware no autopilot, but it trims out very nicely! December 20, 20214 yr Bought it. Already got my $7 worth! Fun little plane. A bit hard to trim for cruise so, with no autopilot, anything over a half-hour flight gets a little tedious. But I'm enjoying it! EddieKABQ

This plane screams that it needs an AP added. I haven't flown in the flight levels without an AP since I can't remember. But the good news is she will cruise at ~280 kts -37deg OAT easily. I tried different thrust settings from 90% to 102%. Fuel flows was 277 pph both engines and it needs about 5 - 8 deg up trim at 26,000 ft. I settled on 92% N1 365 ITT with 185 IAS/280 TAS. Had 1:30 fuel remaining after 180 nm trip. Just over an hour chocks to chocks. Maybe the dev will let us add a community AP for private use. Regards, Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
December 20, 20214 yr Author I have a 450nm flight from Memphis to Charlotte KMEM-KCLT VOR/VOR that I am going to keep records on performance of the C22. Let's see if she is a good x-country bird. Sure wish I had a popup AP for the trip. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
December 20, 20214 yr Author Bummer. I aborted the flight to Charolotte at FL320. Everything totally unrealistic for performance. Way too much thrust available at that Flight Level. Of course, we shouldn't expect too much for a $7 plane. Maybe with an AP where you could monitor the gauges a little closer it might seem somewhat realistic, but probably not. I think this should just be a fun plane for local aerobatics and punching holes in the sky. No serious flying. I do want to explore the possibility of using it as a powered glider. Go up high and shut it down and glide down in peace and quiet and work on your skills to reach your intended landing area. That might be the best use. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

December 20, 20214 yr Hmmmm... FL250 max and watch the speed. Its not a long range cruiser for sure and its perfectly trimmable for hands off... I'm flying it for long time now and usually enjoy its short field capabilities even on grass strips for shorter hops. Putting an AP in it or even thinking about a GTN even as a popup into is blasphemic 🙂 Have you checked the wonderful set of custom VOR and NDB instruments available? The love went into the details for sure. Its build for old school flying. Oxygen could be a problem too on longer flights above FL120. Oxygen Gauge on the center rear wall between the seats. Ah and fly 30 seconds inverted and check if the engines like that 🙂 I think its still more bang for the buck than a lot of other payware stuff out there even from named devs. But as always subjective and my 2 cents only Cheers T.

Good points, but I will opt for the GTN every time. Our idea of perfectly trimmable for hands off varies, I expect a perfectly trimmed plane to hold heading and altitude. I am only inverted at the top of a loop and usually nothing close to 30 seconds, but, it is nice that inverted flight is possible. Still recommended for what you get for the price. December 20, 20214 yr Is it in the Market Place or on Orbx or Contrail? Like to have easy one stop shops for all my add-on updates! Thanks! Chris Camp
