Wow! From lack of releases to politics.  How does it spin like that?  Perhaps some brush up is needed....  From my personal library:

But honestly, FACT is we don´t have any of the well known developers plane in MSFS, not a single decent airliner.

Doesn't the PMDG DC-6 qualify?

The 3rd party devs are finally all tired of trying to kick a moving football.

Yes! I guess I should pick it up and try it.  My focus however is GA and in FSX SE most of my hours were in twins like those from Milviz, RealAir, and some from Carenado.  In MSFS I centered on the mod'd Baron but more recently pickup up with the RYTB (Robt Young Turbo Bonanza) as it is providing by far the best combination of speed and economy.  I have focused on NXi models since that is the best avionics package to-date.

Not my cup of tea, but the Kodiak appears to be getting rave reviews - as is the Freedom Fox.

They have taken it out of the Marketplace as MS SU7 Update has broken it.

No, no we will not shoot you for your statement. We are not like that.  Just roll our eyes up 🤣. You’re just repeating things which are a bit stale by now.

Complex aircraft do not equate to modern jetliners, IFR does not mean FMS and a FMS-driven jetliner is not the only true flight simulation. Automation is not the alpha and omega of flying. I would even say that it is its contrary, but its just me.

My PMDG DC6 that you referred as been taken out, works beautifully on my MSFS PC including when flying IFR in the soup. And a gyro-pilot is so much more fun than a FMS.My WB and PC- 6 are at least as good as they were in P3D, not specially gamey.

Concerning specifically jetliners, I don’t remember that there was a flurry of them 16 months after FSX release. In MSFS there already are a rather good one the FBW Airbus and two easy-on-the-simmer ones from CS.

True, however what I was implying, without trying to be snide to you in kind, is that I cant help but think there's more to it then that.  Color me skeptical but things seem as if they may be roadblocked on the development side.

A roadblock to reconcile their engine and the Metar  is a good explanation but do not underestimate that a company is not at liberty to have its employees work whenever needed. There is a legal framework for paid holidays, you have to grant these holidays under the threat of a fine. This is the end of the year and any holiday days left have to be taken. This is the case in France but does exist in other countries too. And beyond legalities, people need rest. They have children and this is Christmas.

I wouldn’t fault Asobo not to be able to get out the fix when  the MS insane schedule of releases is the problem.
