December 25, 20214 yr And it came to pass on Christmas Eve in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty three, in San Francisco, California, a young woman named Jeanne was in labor. Having neither a telephone nor an automobile Jeanne’s husband Sig walked to the drug store on the corner, stepped into the phone booth, dropped a nickle in the slot, and called for a taxicab. When the taxicab arrived Sig helped Jeanne into the back seat and ordered the taxi driver to take them to Stanford Hospital where Jeanne was admitted to the maternity ward. Early Christmas morning Jeanne bore her first child, a son, who was named Noel in honor of the season. The three wise men bearing gifts of wisdom, patience and tolerance got lost on the Oakland freeway and were never able to bestow those gifts on the Baby Noel. So Noel grew up to be a highly opinionated and argumentative young man...and middle aged man...and old man. Now, this morning, exactly 88 years later, Noel is back a short absence with a small Christmas gift for AVSIM and ready to participate again. Hi Martin! I’m baaaack! Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

I'm not sure if Ive recovered enough to avoid a nervous breakdown, but the masochist in me welcomes you back. Just kidding Noel. I've missed you darling. ❤️ Meanwhile, while you have been on your weird anti-electronic 10 day sabbatical, me and Katy have gone down with a certain virus and cats have continued to be celebrated in the way they absolutely should be. All praise to CATS!!!

December 25, 20214 yr I took an hour and 20 minute break from all things electronic this morning. Our power was out. Many thanks to the electric company for getting it restored so quickly on Christmas day. My son is working today as well, food service in the health care industry. I'll bet he has a more fun time at work than the electric company guys. 🙂 I usually enjoyed working on Christmas day and New Years eve. We'll have Christmas morning on Monday. To Martin, remember, this too shall pass. (inside joke for this particular infection). Been there, done that. Hook Edited December 25, 20214 yr by LHookins Larry Hookins Oh! When I was in the Air Force it was customary for the single guys to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so those with families could spend the holiday at home. But the married guy had to work on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day so the single guys could go out and carouse around. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly.
