I did a flight last night in the TBM 930 and then the A32NX with my usual addons and all was fine. The only thing I realized now I did not do is delete the cache but I don't use it anyway. Hopefully everyone that is having issues gets things figured. I gotta say I love X-Plane's attitude to installation, never had any worries about an upgrade, simply back up the entire folder and if anything goes south delete the entire installation and restore the backup, I even had a 2nd installation that I tested out upgrades/addons before including them in my main installation. Man I wish we could have that in MSFS 2020 ! What prevents you from a backup of MSFS? After testing out the update I always make a backup. A backup from the drive where MSFS (with the community and offical folder) is located and I would highly recommmend a backup from the system drive (Windows) too. Because MSFS stores important system files there and other important things like gaming service from Windows eg. are running from there. Not the first time a had to restore the backup from the system drive and not the MSFS drive and MSFS was running again. I need about 30 min to backup drive C (Windows) and D (MSFS) and the backup is running in the background. Always backup on a seperate drive, I'm using an external HDD. Best regards Detlef

What I did was to initially go to XBox Insider app and leave the Insider group beta 'the flight' as they confusingly call it. Then I went to the Store and downloaded the update (1.7Gb?). When I first re-started MSFS it kept taking me back to the store. So I signed out of Xbox and the Store and rebooted. I then signed back into Xbox app, and the MS Store. When I started MSFS again it did load this time, until it got to checking updates. Then it presented me with the full update 115Gb onto my C drive. I did not panic and saw another user who had had the same issue. All you do is point the installer back to your actual installation location (provided it was not the default location of course) and it all installed fine - maybe another 500k update think. I am not a novice on PCs and computers generally, as I am in IT myself and have a Masters in the subject, but MSFS is not for rookies or those of a nervous disposition. It should come with a health warning. Having said that it is far from the first sim to cause me problems. Luckily I still have some hair left for the next time. Lesson: ensure you do things correctly to the letter, never blindly obey the on-screen information, and if in doubt read these forums first before committing to anything. Same for me, be sure to point to the MAIN MSFS FOLDER. In my case it said i have to download 115 GB (= the whole Sim), then i changed from the DEFAULT FOLDER to my MAIN MSFS FOLDER and the update was ready within 15 minutes. January 8, 20224 yr So now I have a problem that I need help with. I was on the Beta program and did remove myself from it before I did the update through the MS Store. I use MSFS AddonsLinker for all Community folder addons. I previously placed a separate Community and Official folders on my G drive (AddonsLinker is on my H drive). The update appeared to have been a full reinstall as it took several hours to complete. MSFS seems to load and function properly but all of my Community folder addons found in the G: MSFS Community folder are not recognized and are not available in the sim. In doing a file search I find that I have the MSFS files in the default location on my C drive, Users folder under MSFS8wek folder (AC, AppData, Local Cache, LocalState, RoamingState, Settings,SystemAppData, TempState). All of these files show as Linked (Blue Arrow) except for SystemAppData which has no blue arrow. On my G drive MSFS I have three folders: Community, New Folder, Official. The Community folder contains all of my addons shown as links with Blue Arrows. The New Folder shows all of these addons without Blue Arrows. The Official folder shows all of the appropriate addon folders without Blue Arrows and those items appear to work in the sim. My question is how do I now get my Community Folder addons to be recognized? Thanks for your help.

I decided to install my sim at N: (I choose in the App-Setting that all my Apps has to install in N:) Everthing is installing in N:. But I also had the filestructure in C:\ (But this is in realety N:\ with a Sym-Link.) Now comes my problem. When I install any Mod over the Linker in N: (The realy N:) then it will not showed. I had to install it in C:\ what ist the same space but it works only that way.
