Weather app/site

Featured Replies

There are many weather apps and sites available to use for flight sim, such as Windy, MeteoBlue, Ventusky.  Ryan, the Missionary Bush Pilot, has mentioned using Windy.

What app/site do you use and why?  I have foreflight with its weather features, but would like to gauge opinions on others you feel enhances your flight planning.

I recently discovered metar-taf. It just shows the metar/taf/notams for a specific airport but does so quite nicely. It also shows the cloud ceiling which is nice if you are VFR.
Usually the weather in MSFS matches with this site.

Meteoblue, like the Avaiation metar section which displays the status of each airport (vfr ifr etc..), cloud base or visibitlity etc.. on the map and also the animated wind speeds.

Skyvector, both for flight sim and IRL.

Also good for flight planning and you can display Sigmets, Airmets, Winds Aloft and NexRad, all on top of aviation enroute maps. After you set up your route, you can export it to LitlleNavMap and from there export it directly into MSFS. It's great value for the price, which is free.

I'm so excited to hear about this new weather app/site! I'm sure it'll be a great resource for all of us. I'm a big fan of the weather and I'm always checking the forecast to see what the temperature and conditions will be. This new app looks like it will be a great way to keep track of the weather. Plus, it looks like it will be easy to use and understand. I'm looking forward to trying it out and seeing what other features it has.

My favorite  https://metar-taf.com

I'm glad to see people discussing the different weather apps and sites available for flight sims.

That is what I use, and it works great.
