January 8, 20224 yr I would like to show off MSFS to a friend of mine and would like to know what's a good plane to demonstrate and show off the capabilities of what the Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo can do? January 8, 20224 yr Could be showcased with a lot of different models. Why type of flying might he be interested in? What aircraft is he at least somewhat familiar with? In other words, what would provide some ah ha moments? January 8, 20224 yr Author VFR flying for sure! With a plane that's not too complex, but easy to fly as well. I'd like for him to try it first hand to without me having to go into too much detail. Something good for a new, beginner pilot. January 8, 20224 yr I'd say something like the Bonanza. You can map pretty much all the buttons & levers to the Honeycomb set, control the autopilot on/off/altitude/VS/FLC, etc. Makes for quite a tactile experience where you don't have to reach for the keyboard/mouse much.

Clean simple layout and simple quadrant controls. Then you could progress to full TPM. Would provide a progressive learning curve. January 8, 20224 yr Author What about the C172, or Just Flight Turbo Arrows? I'm not sure how to set up the Bravo, is it single engine, single engine complex, or multi-engine for those type of planes? ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
January 8, 20224 yr The C172 is good as the controls map closely to that. The Arrow is good as well but there's a bit more mapping involved for some of the stuff. You're probably better off using something like the C172 or Bonanza as easier to map stuff given that they're stock planes and they have the G1000Nxi which works well with the Honeycomb AP setup.
January 8, 20224 yr Author Is there a good tutorial on how to map everything to the various planes? This is the very 1st time I'm setting up my honeycomb alpha/bravo. January 8, 20224 yr Author On the C172, the beacon and strobe switch on my Alpha doesn't seem to work, Even though I have them mapped to the right function. The land, taxi, and nav switches work right out of the box. Any ideas on why it's not working? January 9, 20224 yr Author They are set to the default button 21 (Beacon) and 23 (Strobe). I have tried erasing them and reassigning them, but they still don't work. January 9, 20224 yr Author The switches by default for the exterior lights all work fine on the bravo though. not sure why it's only those 2 lights that are not working on the Alpha Yoke.
