Moving to Arkansas!

Recommended Posts

Financial and other problems have forced my hand, so I will be moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas this coming weekend. I don't expect to be off-line for more than one week.

Have a safe journey! Should be a somewhat warmer climate.

Thanks. Actually, the four feet of snow over the past three days simply reinforced my decision to move.

Hot Springs vs that snow level?  Priceless!  And COL?  ++  (My wife is from "the Region!")

I've been packing stuff for the past week and only have three more days before I have to make the move. I cannot believe the amount of "stuff" I've accumulated over the 32 years I've been in this house!

Good grief I've somehow got to get four antennas down from the roof, and a long end-fed half wave antenna and 42' supports down tomorrow before another snow storm comes tomorrow night. Right now the roof is nearly clear of snow.

This house is about 2/3rds the square footage as my old house...

Just Googled it and took a drive down the road in street view. 😁 Looks a lovely place.

Time to learn whittling wood on the porch 😄

Nice area, I went there looong ago, Clinton was the governor of the Great State of Arkansas , it is that long 😏. From this time on I have been one of the rare French who knows how to pronounce the word  Arkansas !

Arkansas is unique as it is the only state in the U.S. that is mentioned in the Bible...

The best American novel about moonshining in the South that I know is the delightful 'The Diamond Bikini'. It makes me smile as much now as the first time I read it some forty years ago.

The French loved it and even made a movie out of it !

Just run some coax out to the still and you can tell the Rev'nuers that those copper coils are a high-power balun!  😜
