February 2, 20224 yr I started the same thread on MSFS forums and probably I’m not objective here coming from Warsaw, Poland myself, but I wonder how big the community of flight simmers interested in exploring this part of EU is. I mean especially Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, I can imagine this could be done as one update, and then later on (or earlier) - the Balkans, as a separate region too. I’ve been flying a lot on Vatsim all over Europe and judging just by the number of simmers taking off and landing in EPWA, LKPR, LHBP, as well as by the overall representation of online ATC in these regions I feel quite confident the community here is pretty extensive. Cities like Prague, Warsaw, Budapest could definitely use some touching up (especially taking into consideration the fact that while Western and Southern Europe has plenty examples of such, there’s literally NOT A SINGLE photogrammetry city east of German border) and seeing them in photogrammetry standard would certainly add a lot to flying experience in this part of the world.
February 2, 20224 yr I am waiting impatiently for such an update, I am sure, it is only a matter of time.. by the way, hello my compatriot - Gdynia 🙂 brds Martin
February 2, 20224 yr Author Hello to you too! Let's hope our patience shall be rewarded:) Probably not this year though:( Edited February 2, 20224 yr by lemonid
February 2, 20224 yr As Asobo/Microsoft acts from a purely economical standpoint, their next WU locations will be in a more or less descending order a) those, from where most simmers (and therefore potential additional simmers) come from and/or b) what most simmers find attractive. With the US, Germany, UK, France, Australia and soon Spain done, a) is pretty much done except for maybe Canada, so I'd say they'll turn to b) next, which I speculate will be either Italy or some other "tourist" location (Egypt, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, India maybe). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Not what we desire 😀. But, and you right, it doesn't hurt to ask. I would have other priorities. In Europe, I lean toward Greece and Italy. Because of the superb landscapes and because of the trove of architectural treasures for photogrammetry. But there is also a need to improve and enhance the West Andean countries (from Colombia down to Chile) and the Caribbean ! Both regions were mostly ignored in the past but MSFS already gives a taste of how interesting it is to fly there. At the end of the day, I think like Fiorentoni that we'll get Brazil, South Africa and Canada 😏 😄 ! February 2, 20224 yr I would love to see Eastern Europe get a touch up. I’m finishing up flying in Norway and on my way down to Africa to fly the Ryneveld route I’ll go through Eastern Europe. Would have been awesome to have had an update! I agree it seams to be going according to populated “high profile” countries and I would think there are still some countries that would come before Eastern Europe on that front. Italy, China, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina. That being said I was also surprised to see my own country when the Scandinavian WU came so keep the hopes up!
February 2, 20224 yr yes ofcourse, but i also would like to see more exotic locations, thsoe almost evert get neglected. central africa/america.india and others.
February 2, 20224 yr Author I also think Italy and Greece will go first, before Eastern Europe is updated in any way. That having said, I'd be really surprised if they did anything with China, for obvious political reasons. I find it hard to belive they'll be able to obtain any decent aerial imagery. Would love to be proven wrong though!

We already have the excellent Himalayas mesh from Orbx and having flown there and in Assam, Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, Kerala and Tamil Nadu (as I recall), India is globally is not too shabby in MSFS. Of course there is room for improvement and some photogrammetry. What do you think of the Bombay skyline from Orbx ? Possibly. I understand the economic pressures but surely they wouldn't prioritise "where most simmers (and therefore potential additional simmers) come from"......MS know where most people fly, I would have thought that would be the main motivator. I don't tend to fly much in my home country, I know what it looks like and the sim inevitably has flaws which consequently stand out like a sore thumb. If they are prioritising updates based on where customers come from I think they are missing a trick IMO MSFS 2020 i7-4790k @ 4.4ghz for the moment. Asus z87-k mobo. February 2, 20224 yr Yeah, of course I'd love to see everywhere updated. I don't do much flying in Eastern Europe, if any. But, with a specialized WU, I'm sure that would changes things, as the recent Australia update has for me. Here's to hoping!
