Sim Update 8 Beta Preview (Thu Feb 10 at 8:00am PT)

Recommended Posts

I need help. I couldn't get a flight started with the Beta. So I restored all of my hard disks to before I entered the Beta.  I wanted to start the process over. So then I entered the Beta again with the restored system. And now I can't get past Checking for Updates. It just spins and spins on that screen. I have waited over 20 minutes but no luck. I am so frustrated, I can't even test the Beta because I can't get it installed and running. I am using the Steam version, I am not using the default location, the sim is running as Administrator, and I don't have addons in the Community folder. I don't know what to do to get running again.

Help please..............

Well, out of desperation I have uninstalled every trace of MSFS from my machine, all folders, all registry entries, everything. I am now installing the sim from scratch (still in the Beta) so I'll see how that goes. I have very fast internet so it's not too terrible (downloads occurring at around 120Mbit, even though I have gigabit service. I'm in no hurry. I will know some time later today if all is well or not.
