I know, I was on the alpha and beta teams for this thing, dewd. I know exactly how they operate but somehow have false hopes they'll get this implemented into their dev ops.

The beta is out for just a few hours and it appears many have solved the fps hit already - I just had a much smother flight with no stutters.  Several have commented positively about the weather.  No doubt we all won't be absolutely happy after the beta, but have just a bit of faith until the release version is out in the wild.

Can you explain what exactly you mean by this sentence?  I read it a half dozen times, and it still doesn't make any sense to me.

Look, I like the way MSFS is working right now. I have no problems with clouds, weather, heights of bushes, etc. etc.  I just to don't want to see things broken like in previous updates.

I thunk SU5 and SU7 had immovable deadlines because both were a product release where they spent a lot of money advertising a release date. For SU5, it was the XBox release. For SU7, it was the GOTY release. Neither releases could be pushed back because when you spend all that money advertising the release date, it’s wasted money if the date changes.

The beta testing for those immovable date releases are just to see if there are show stopping bugs,

For SU8, I can imagine it can be pushed back, if we as the community say there is something so egregious about the SU8 beta, that we demand they fix it before going live with it,  No advertising money was really spent on SU8 so I think it can be pushed back, if the community really pushes for it to be postponed.

But it would have to be a very egregious bug that affects a lot of people for them to postpone SU8. An example would be the bug from the fall of 2020 where plugging in certain peripherals caused people to CTD before they reached the menu screen - that bug was a show stopper for so many people because they couldn’t even play MSFS and it did affect a large percentage of MSFS players.

Otherwise, if it’s not a very egregious bug that affects a large percentage of players,  I doubt they are going to postpone the SU8 release date.

Nobody does. Believe me, neither do I. So relax and let the beta testers do their job and whatever will be made available on March 1 can only be better than an SU8 published now in its current state. The glas is half full

I mean they are notorious for not fixing things close to release and I hope in this public beta they will fix what is reported broken.

Again, that is why they are releasing a beta, in order to give public opportunity to test and report. Will they fix these or not in the GA? No idea, wait and see. Most importantly, stay positive
