Thrustmaster TPR - technical issue!

Featured Replies

Hey there

I have been using VKB-Sim T-Rudder Pedals Mk.IV without any kind of issues! A couple of days ago I have purchased Thrustmaster TPR Rudder Pedals (about 500 US-Dollar). Since I am using already Thrusmaster`s Hotas Warthog Flight Stick + Throttle there is no need to install a specific driver for the TPR Pendular Rudder because it is using the same driver as the Warthog does ( Driver 2018_TMHW_1 + Firmware) and of course it is already installed on my machine.However, no matter which sensitivity setting I do apply for the TPR Rudder Pedals all my Aircrafts (FBW A32nx, Aerosoft CRJ 500/700/900/1000, TBM930, Cessna 152/ 172 and so on.. just keep SNACKING on the runway out of control. Honestly I don't know what I am doing wrong!!! So please any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your attention!

Regards (LSZH)

 Reversing the toe brake axis does not change anything at all. Aircraft still out off control keeping snacking on the runway.

I'd look for control conflicts, particularly the rudder axis and/or brakes assigned more than once.

I have the TPR pedals and a T1600/HOTAS and they work great, and almost every time I add a peripheral it seems like multiple assignments have to be figured out.

You could also try unplugging your other primary controls temporarily with just the TPR in and see how it does there.

Just a shot in the blue: Autorudder disabled in assistance settings?

Unfortunately, the auto rudder is just a temporary fix, not realistic at all.

You may have problem because you have HOTAS driver installed.

I run the pedals and a HOTAS A10 w/o any drivers. They are just simple USB switches and variometers. I have the same great pedals, and they are fantastic, super smooth.

Most USB peripherals don't need drivers and if you install them they can cause problems.

It also is possible as mentioned above you have a conflict with a keyboard/mouse or other USB peripheral. To test unplug all other USB peripherals and make sure no keyboard or mouse inputs control the rudder.

Another problem can be that your USB channel is overloaded. I have all my USB peripherals plugged into powered hubs if you have a lot of them this is the best way the motherboard USB channels do not have a lot of wattage for power, if you have an external HD this can really draw a lot of watts.

Thank you for your feedback guys..

@ZobZoblebV8

There is NO multiple assignments on my setup. And of course I have tried unplugging other primary controls included Warthog Stick/throttle and its drivers temporarily with only just the TPR and the my keyboard Logitech G915 connected (in order to use the throttle keys # F1,F2,F3.F4), but again without success.

@DAD (Autorudder disabled in assistance settings?)

Of course Dude!!! What do you think:.-)

@177B

No Sir, I have UNINSTALLED all TM drivers ,Target and the calibration Tool and it didn`t work for me as expected. Aircrafts just keeping snacking on the runway using the TPR rudder pedals. That`s the point! I have already contacted the TM technical support yesterday so I am waiting for an answer to the question of how far we will go with this bad boy Alternatively I will bring this guy back to shop right here in Zürich just around the corner and i will get for sure money back (CHF 499.90) I have 14 days time to do so according to Swiss laws. And that`s it...

I have the same rudders and have no issues at all. But I am a bit confused - you say a/c are "snacking" down the runway. I'm guessing you mean "snaking" or weaving left and right with little control.

You've probably tried this but -

  • disconnect rudders from USB port
  • remove any device drivers
  • start MSFS

after MSFS is running, plug in the rudders - you should get a popup from MSFS about default profile, etc.

Select yes and make no other changes to rudder profile.

Test it out and if it's basically working make any custom adjustments you need.

Good luck

You can use the Windows Joystick setup tool to check if you are getting smooth input on all the axis, there are 4 on the pedals.

I can't remember the exact name of the tool, but do a search in the menu bar and you will find the program.

I use it a lot to set up new hardware devices. It also tells you if the device is functioning properly.

Best of luck. It is possible you got a dud, though that is very rare.

GAME OVER! Earlier today, I returned the TPR Pendular Rudder back to the seller! I have my MONEY back and this is the most important. Problem solved!

That's a pity! Because they are so good.
