May 17, 200719 yr Very frustrated performances having Quad QX6800 Where is the QX6800 FSX support? Parked off until SP2 Check my test published: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=397567&page=
May 17, 200719 yr Hi Tomas,What happened to your performance figures when you connected your 8800 in non SLI mode as was suggested?Ian M
May 17, 200719 yr Hello Ian M, mate still the same with and without SLI connected, seems to be this SP/FSX or viceverse is NOT for very exigent gamers.
May 17, 200719 yr I just had to follow up and share that for me rolling back from the latest Nvidia 158.18 to 101.41 totally corrected all SP1 problems I was starting to notice... My FPS have increased by at least another 25% from where I was with 158.18... I remembered 101.41 really running fast and stable for all my app's and games and sure enough once again rolling back a driver is not a bad thing...My real weather with detailed clouds now are set at max, as well as Air traffic set to 40% other traffic set from 15% to 24% and then all graphics sliders maxed are pulling fps increase now as stated above at least 25% higher again than with the latest Nvidia 158.18 I had installed yesterday...For me though with Autogen maxed I was getting a slight jerkiness like others were also seeing, even though fps were high, but bringing Autogen down even one notch totally removed any jerkiness... I also came back from unlimited to locked 30fps and the entire flight from Portland KPDX to Seattle KSEA was as fluid as anything I have ever seen...I just have to say even though I have been flying FSX since it came out, I was given tonight a whole new awareness after rolling back this driver, of what their intent was to begin with in creating this FS version, in that until you fly this sim with everything maxed at 30fps you just are not aware of how good it is... My landings were the most pleasurable I've ever experienced and rock solid 30fps with all graphics maxed is smooth as silk... Autogen is the only one that I now have set to one notch this side of max...I'm also not seeing any problems others are seeing with first processor running at 100% and the other 3 processors running between 40% and 70%... In my case everything went perfect by removing 158.18... 8 series Nvidia boards may run fine with it but my 7 series board doesn't, maybe the next version will correct it as well as turn on SLI by fixing the well documented 4gb Vista 64, 7 series Nvidia problem...bnick

Parked off until SP2> > Check my test published:> > http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=397567&page=You definitely have some issue on your end! Whether it's a configuration issue or H/W I don't know, but it's definitely not SP1! This is what I see at TNCM with sliders maxed except no light bloom or sun glare. Are you using light bloom? If so turn it off, that still is a performance hog! I normally fly with water at 2xlow, but I included what I get with water maxed also. I also have airline traffic set to 100% but there were only 3 aircraft in the area at the time of this shot!Water 2Xlowhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171744.jpgWater Maxed!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171746.jpg Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 17, 200719 yr Yes Tom, with the quality slider to medium I am getting the same frame rates like you of course. But still thinking this FSX/SP1 version is not for the most exigent flyer/gamers, all full-right sliders my fps drops to 8 and max 13 (checked in TNCM)Thanks for read my experience

Have you tried the different JobScheduler settings. For your system, the AfinityMask should be set to 15. Try to set it as dual core to see what happens! There's a thread discussing possible collisions on the memory bus as more cores are used, so reducing them may help! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 17, 200719 yr Commercial Member Tomas,I'd personally be interested to see what would happen if you used Vista 32-bit instead of 64. Why are you using 64 anyways? There's absolutely no benefit to that right now as there's hardly any software out there at all that's coded for it. Certainly FSX isn't. Drivers are also less mature for x64 I believe as well. You clearly have something wrong with your system configuration - you're one of the only people reporting such low FPS on such a high end machine. If it was a problem with SP1, you'd be seeing that from everyone, not just you. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 17, 200719 yr Im using windows Vista Ultimate 64 Bits because Im bought a new system and I want to be upgraded to the latest SO of Microsoft, soon or later I should formatt my hard disk (if I want it new), being a maddness because I have tons of fs stuff. All testings done lands on the Processor my Quad QX6800, my FS2004 works absolutely perfect all time in every place...I know that I can get smooth performances with FSX, but NOT with high quality, Im NOT CONFORMED with sliders to MEDIUM, do you understand me? with FS2004 is possible, and I will be using for much time yet.Regards and thanks for read,
May 17, 200719 yr FWIW, I ran WinXP-64 on my last system for over two solid years. On my new C2D system, I attempted to go with Vista x64 and was is was very, very, disabpointed. Driver maturatiy, stability, flakey kernel, drive-data corruptions, it all just seem to be too much. I'll have to agree with Ryan on this one, if you're a WinXPx64 camper, don't assume you can jump to Vista-64 without a whole lot more issues. After my 5th or 6th x64 installation, I finally gave up and went with Vista 32-bit and have been rock-solid ever since. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
May 17, 200719 yr Thomas! I just noticed, your shots are locked at 25fps. What do you get if you set unlimited? I've noticed since FSX RTM release that unlike FS9 locking FPS in FSX reduces performance. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 17, 200719 yr I did the same test as your screen shots with my C2D. Got the same result. Probably a frame or two lower. I am interested to see what fps you get on KJFK with traffic max (with same graphics setting - water Low 2x). I got between 13-18 looking at the terminal and the AIs.
May 17, 200719 yr >Setting the FPS to a finite number rather than Unlimited>helps in reducing the Sudden Pause/Jertkyness.>>MAnnyLocking the frame rate *appears* to be MORE important with SP1 than it did with FSX RTM.When I run unlimited with SP1, there is more fps variance, and there are more blurries. But with frame lock at 25, the blurries are gone and the fps tends to stick on 25.That's my initial impression. More testing needed.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
