That was before I moved to the NW. I’m not aware Concorde visited Woodford - a military airfield. More likely it was Manchester Airport - 5 miles west where I saw it many times including its last departure in October 2003. G-BOAC is on permanent display at the airport in a special hangar. Definitely not at Manchester - flew out of and into there many times in the 60s - mostly viscounts The one in my memory was the first British Concord - not the French - and it was a demo flight - my company did the fire protection on her - and we made a special trip to see it . Apart from M/C - the only other airfield in Lancashire able to take Concord was Warton.
February 24, 20224 yr Author Moderator @jaytee73, fair enough. Not difficult to know Woodford is not Manchester Airport. Don't forget to add the 'e'. Ray (Cheshire, England). February 24, 20224 yr Commercial Member Two license are not required for educational purposes. There's only a single computer involved and the purpose of the "one user" is that you can't install it into a VM environment so that it can be used by more than one person from a single install. I'll know the answer when LM reply. Your logic is sound though. 👍 Ray (Cheshire, England). February 25, 20224 yr I can see that Concorde was at the Woodford Airshow in 1971, but I cannot find any information regarding whether it landed or not. February 25, 20224 yr Oh it landed OK - it Must have - because I only saw it take of - and the reaction was awesome noise and dark smoke Almost identical to the video going around showing the MSFS version taking off😱
February 25, 20224 yr A British Airways Concorde did once do a low fly-by down the runway at Barton back in the Nineties, it didn't touch down, but it got very low over the runway, that I do recall. Apparently the crew were quite game to actually try a touch and go there, and asked if they could, but BA's bosses forbade them from attempting it. February 28, 20224 yr Author Moderator I’ve had a reply back from enquiries at LM. They just pointed me to the EULA and appeared to have no interest in discussing the museum’s suitability for a licence. As they haven’t said it’s not an appropriate use of their software I’ll take it they have no objections to anyone at the Museum purchasing a licence should they so wish to do so. I’ll write to them in the next day or two. Ray (Cheshire, England).
