Hello, 

Suddenly, while flying along, in p3dv4.5hf3, the screen goes black. Says it’s reloading terrain data. Flight resumes after a few minutes. Never seen this before. No updates or changes to the sim or computer system. Has happen 3 times now. Primarily over ther west Texas desert in fsl A320. Route I’ve flown hundreds of times with no issues. I also noticed that the level of detail in the graphics setting auto adjusted itself from ultra to high during these strange events. I’m stumped. Any ideas?

I'm using P3Dv.4.5HF3 as well and whilst my screen did not go black, I did constantly got the reloading messages at one stage. I managed to considerably reduce the occurences by deactivating other geographical areas. The simulator was constantly trying to put all in memory.

Backup your config then delete restart P3D and fly the same route and aircraft, If no issue your settings may be to high with that aircraft.

I have never known P3D to "auto adjust" the detail settings mid flight.

I also have never heard of this happening before. When this occurs, the LOD adjusts one notch to the left in the settings.

I have deleted the config file. Will let p3d build a new one. I’ll only import my controller settings for thrust master controllers and make no other changes. Will see if it happens again on the same rote.

I really didn't find out what the problem was at the time.
With P3Dv5.x I have never since found this issue.

Turn off the sync clock setting in FSUIPC also, if you are using FSUIPC. This could also lead to sync time....and then trigger a reloading scenery. 

Test has failed. New config file, no fsuipc, reduced settings and still get the mid-flight terrain reload. My P3d had been working really well till this. Previously had an issue where the aircraft would auto jump to another airport. That was strange but fixed that by purchasing the full versions of gsx and gsx2. This is so strange. Can’t think of anything that changed. Worked great until it didn’t.

I had this problem among other terrian issues a few weeks ago with v4.5. I solved it by resetting the P3D settings in the Nvidia control panel back to default.

After a few more flights, this seems to only happen with the fleet of fsl airbus aircraft. No problems with the pmdg ngxu.
