March 2, 20224 yr I'm looking for the best overall offline AI traffic adoon. I'd prefer not to use AIG since I don't have years to download every little US airline. I used to use UTL but that has since stopped development.
March 3, 20224 yr If you're looking for paid products, JustFlight's Traffic Global may seem enticing to you, however for me the models themselves are worse than UTLive as they are way more jagged shaped and look more lumpy to me. Free products, nothing at the moment except for AIG. Personally the time spent on AIG is just a one time thing, and you shouldn't really have to worry about it much once you've gone through the process.

I have AIG in MSFS and aircraft park at all the random gates since an afcad isn't really a thing... does this happen with AIG in P3D?

Depends on the quality of the AFCAD. But P3D is a far more mature sim and enthusiasts have created replacement AFCADs for many airports. They can be found in the relevant subforum on the AIG forum. It’s not necessary to install all available airlines. Just as many as you wish. Ray (Cheshire, England). March 3, 20224 yr It only takes me 2 days to download all OCI airliners, actually only 1 day needed but some just jammed and I have to nursing though them. After that, UTL in the trash bin.

Some developers of 3rd party airports may incorrectly assign airline codes to the wrong parking spot, but from what I've seen, I haven't really seen any airport that has been wholly incorrect with airline placement. If you're using an airport that from a competent developer, you won't have to worry much about the random placement of aircraft. Default airports have a larger margin of error as they are randomly generated but also I haven't seen much default airports that were 100% incorrect. MSFS airports technically can have data with some parking information, but afaik it doesn't actually read any of that data and it just scatters everything everywhere.
March 3, 20224 yr I use TG but I would say the more you know about any AI program the better. TG just got an update last week and should work in V6 when it comes out in the future as the program is not installed in the sim, PS once installed no net connection needed and no spawning of aircraft and you control density by the sim sliders, and can remove all AI from the sim simple by moving the sliders fully to the left no need to un-install when tracking a problem in the sim. March 3, 20224 yr I am not sure about the AIG comment taking years to install. I know some simmers have invested the time to download all fleets worldwide, but if you end up limiting your AI traffic anyway, the reality is some of those wont appear. So I chose the other approach, which is to selectively chose airlines that I would expect to see at the airport. Its a few clicks to select those airlines and let the installer take care of the rest. AIG has a multi-select installer. For me its a 5-10min exercise as part of my flight planning prep routine. I also add airlines based on which airports I am departing and flying into . This way my collection of airlines increases over time, but the advantage for me is I spend more time flying doing it this way. EDIT: BTW I am a convert from UT to AIG.
