May 19, 200719 yr I'm not sure if this has been asked as things are going crazy here, but did anyone notice that the taxi lights don't work from VC, as well as the cabin, logo lights on the 737? I did not pay attention to the CRJ, but I think I got the same result. It is really dark at night, and from the wing view especially, you can't appreciate that view as things are extremely dark without these other lights on. Most of the time when I get picky like this all stems to being able to create realistic movies. I am looking forward to the recorder module for FSX compatible with SP1 when it is ready. I also did not notice if there was a global light setting like there was in FS9. I use a setting of 8 there. I wonder if there is a way to fix this on our own? FSX is definitly performing better now that I have played with some settings. I still think the complex add ons will bring things to it's knees with current hardware. I do hope I'm wrong here as the sim has alot of potential and with time, just like FS9, it will be smokin more than ever. My favorite thing in FSX so far is the water. I set it at 2Xlow. Just amazing visuals there. Anyway, sorry to ramble on and switch subjects mid sentence.. (Bad habit of mine). I was just looking to see if anyone else had these light issues first mentioned.
May 19, 200719 yr Yes the 737 is a problem, that has already been reported. The CRJ should work provided you have the Landing Lights illuminate ground option selected in your aircraft section. The good news, is External lighting now works on non FSX aircraft! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 19, 200719 yr This topic has been discussed in a number of different places. However, here is the recap. The default B738 and the A321 model files do not "call" the light maps in their texture folders. The *LM.dds files are not referenced in the actual code. If you know how to use a hex editor you can see this easily. The solution - ACES will have to fix these two aircraft for the light maps to work.fb

They are posted at http://freeflightdesign.com for anyone who's a modeler and needs 'em for their own projects. Fr. May 19, 200719 yr Hi Bill,I would like to get hold of those XML lighting files but couldn't find them at freeflightdesign. I would be grateful if you would point me to them.John John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
May 19, 200719 yr Guys, thanks for your input. At least I know it's not just me. I am sure ACES will take care of this as well as post SP1 issues that are reported. It's just amazing at the involvement they have with the community this time around. I will look for the XML stuff as I don't mind trying to correct the problem. Thanks for the heads up Bill.
