I had a repaint for it for the one John Glen flew when he was a Marine exchange pilot flying for the Air Force. His F-86 had Mig Mad Marine emblazoned on the side. I no longer have my plastic models but I do have die cast models in 1/72 scale of a P-51 Mustang, an F-86 and an F-105 sitting on top the hutch on my desk. BTW, The Virtavia F-105 for FSX flies pretty well in P3D. Noel Yes, the SectionF8 F-86E/F it was, Noel. Hard to believe it's such long time ago. I'd almost say those were the days but you can't go on saying that, can you.. 😉 Die cast.... yeah, before about 10 years ago i didn't even know it existed. Now i have a big glass showcase with about 70 1/18 die cast carmodels in it. I got seriously hooked. Funny enough no aircraft (yet..;-) ) I was absolutely in love with P3D, particularly v4 ( or v5, can't remember exactly ) but when MSFS landed i couldn't even look at FSX or P3D anymore. IMHO these belong to the ever growing FS Department of History. There's lots of stuff still missing in MSFS and wrong but the beauty, immersion and excitation it gives me is far beyond anything former FS versions could give me. Again IMHO only of course. . March 23, 20224 yr That F-86 would get my vote for the best ever fighter aircraft designed for a flight simulator. I wish someone would update it for P3Dv5. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Noel Thank you, Noel. We actually were in the process of reworking our FS9 F-86 model to make it compatible with FSX. However i got an email from Milviz' Colin asking kindly to please not release a native FSX version of our freeware Sabre. A very reasonable question for a payware company i thought. So we stopped working on it. I think Milviz did a magnificent job on their payware FSX F-86 model. I did prefer Rob's flight dynamics though, certainly regarding the automatic slats operation which the Milviz model did not have. I would've loved to have a go at a native MSFS F-86 but without Rob and Hansi (my good friend and superb programmer) it is of no use. ( Rob retired from FS flightmodeling and Hansi mysteriously disappeared.a few years ago already). Actually one of the reasons too that there's most probabely not going to be a freeware Jahn/Visser DC-3/C-47 for MSFS. Sad but true. I have put all my money on AH's rendition of the Dakota for MSFS. Go Bazz !! 😎 (check out this short video, the sound is awesome for one thing! ) ) Edited March 24, 20224 yr by Javiz Jan

I wonder if his layout was based on the historical Port Hope, Lindsay & Beaverton Railway that passed through Omemee where he grew up (and still spends time). Here is some info to that rail line:http://www.railstomidland.com/history.html Edited March 25, 20224 yr by Matthew Kane Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 25, 20224 yr “grownup playing with toys” Aren't all of us around here grownups playing with toys? If it weren't for grownup toys we'd go nuts. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 25, 20224 yr A person lives in some small country in a far foreign land who speaks a language so isolated that there is no online translations. They could still look at a model railroad internet site with diagrams, and then go buy the pieces and construct a layout. Imagine the same person trying to figure out how to update the store version of MSFS! Might be impossible! 🤣 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
