May 30, 200719 yr Hi John,Yes and yes as much as we can fix the visibility changes!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 30, 200719 yr Arg... Are you using the FSGensis mesh? I think I had decided against getting it... this shot adds more confidence in my decision. Also, are you using TileProxy? Is that a pretty typical result for you with it? I'm still waiting to give that whirl...
May 30, 200719 yr >I just bought it. It is amazing. There is so much between the>two programs to discover it will take a while to see all they >can do.>But the attention to detail in program interface, ease of use,>and number of options is incredible. Loads of options and looks great. Must have for weather and environment enthusiasts.
May 30, 200719 yr Well I'm just as happy as a sand-fly in the Sahara! I purchased the combo, loaded up default and flew the Seattle area then moved over to KRDG (Reading, Penn) (the MAAM Museum airfield). Whilst holding back the high level of enthusiasm, (because I DO have it, and I know everyone else has it, too)!; I was looking forward to the experience of "bursting through the tops" into a brilliant, hard, dazzling white sea of cloud with a blinding sun somewhere overhead. Given the excellence of the previous ASv** series, and the advances in software technology, and that the HiFi developers are among the world's cream of developers - I would now believe that this can't be achieved. . Am I right? Is this the case, Jim, Damian or Chris?Other than that - MANY THANKS - for what looks to be one of the GREAT pieces of software additions to this incredible sim. SP1 and some good hardware has done it for me, and I'm now pretty sure of a divorce, the sale of the television, no more baseball, to heck with elections! I'm going to buy a years supply of coffee and arrange for an auto-delivery of Pizza once a day! May 30, 200719 yr How much of a performance hit are people experiencing? I had Active Sky on FS9 and loved it, but it did significantly affect performance. I finally have FSX configured for acceptable use (with Ultimate Traffic and Wilco A320). I am really worried that I will have to give up something to run this software.Craigjjs
May 30, 200719 yr Hi Paul,Thanks much!!"bursting through the tops" is still left up to the engine built into FS. There will be limits, but we'll see what users think and then we'll push toward those limits!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 30, 200719 yr Tileproxy and fsgensis mesh-will never fly any other way now....Yes-that is the pretty typical result-for the US. Other areas of the world are hit and miss but can be checked with the viewers first.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
May 30, 200719 yr Does the "limit visibility" option work this time?I would set ASV6.5 to 30 max but it did not always follow it.al
May 30, 200719 yr I'll throw in my congratulations to HIFI and say this is a wonderful program. The interface is much better than the first version, less is more in this case. The weather map is a work of art along with the x-guage. So many features to explore especially with the x-graphics and the ability to do textures based on the current weather conditions prior to your flight. One of the features I really like is the ability to see upper level wind direction, should really help on high altitude flights to find a good tailwind.Only took a short flight around Alaska in the cessna but the visibility transition seemed smooth and heading towards a storm the frames didn't seem to take a hit (locked at 24), and as approached and flew through some clouds I actually had a bit of turbulence. Couldn't fly any further as the real world beckoned but looking forward to more flights.Haven't played around too much with the textures in x-graphics, only used the default, but did notice the inland water looked much better....may have to try the green tinted ones...so many choices. Another quality add-on for FSX....now I own 2 good weather programs, WMRX and ASX. It's good to have choices.Ian.
May 30, 200719 yr Hi al,I know this came up in testing and it does work. Give it a try and if it doesn't, drop us a line and we will continue to work on it until we get it right for you.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 30, 200719 yr Hi Jim,Can't buy it as I'm unable to get passed the creation of a profile. Keep getting a message stating my 'zip' code should be 5 digits long. I live in the UK and our area codes are 7 digits long. Mike (champing at the bit!)
May 30, 200719 yr Just answered your e-mail!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 30, 200719 yr I am still having about 1/4 of the right side of the menus cut off.I cannot pull and stretch the menu box to see it and out of ideas. The box around the menus is fine, just the contents on the right side within. This is both the weather and graphics menus.
May 30, 200719 yr Hi What is your dpi set at? if not at 96 try that setting and see if it resolves the problem please.RegardsCarl Hackmanhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg
