It disables nosewheel steering when using the pedals, so you can check rudder controls with the pedals after engine start without the nosewheel turning (which is not healthy while static; though in MSFS that has no real effect; it's more of a immersion thing). I find taxiing more accurate using my Virpil Rudder pedals than using the nosewheel steering axis on my Thrustmaster Airbus joystick.
