My comment might be a little premature but It looks like they nailed the clouds and lighting! Everything else is going to be icing on the cake!

"and a lot of folks are saying [...] the DSF files [...] the scenery looks about the same and yeah I have to admit they're right"

Well, good thing we got that one clear once and for all, I'd say!

You forgot to quote the part where he says it is still under a heavy WIP and we did not see any of the new scenery deliberately to take his quotes out of context? It comes almost immediatly after the quoted parts you selectivly chosen to prove a wrong point, listen again, make sure to quote the part where he talks about the new beaches, roads, and mentioning there is more than that in the works.

I am just repeating word by word what Austin Meyer himself says about the topic. Maybe you should try and deal with reality.

But you still didn't answer the question though? He did say that, then he proceeds with what I added. It is there for anyone to listen, so what excatly is cleared from where you stand if you managed to quote only what made you come to the *wrong* conclusion which he them debunks himself immeditaly after?

Im all up for xplane news, but this interview didn't really say much or anything new about the world.  It was mostly about the Airbus (which you would think would come up in episode 3 - planes)

I was hoping austin would talk about what there plan is for world improvements, new meshes and resolutions, new autogen, world area specific autogen, roads (there was a brief comment on they can do curved roads, but sounds like they're not going to do it?) Railways

Oh, fair enough. No I didn't forget. Why? It just has nothing to do directly with the quoted statements.

He says what people see critical and that he agrees and then goes on to say that they did rewrite a whole lot of other things like the flight model, which (as far as I thought) were close to perfection in XP 11 already. So this basically leads nowhere.

May I ask: If even Austin can see it, why can't you? I take it you don't think Austin is wrong here?

Where did I say *current* x-plane scenery looks good?

What I said that current footage of "x-plane 12 scenery" is actually x-plane 11 scenery, which makes people say "11.60" for now, hence "looks the same" -> they are still working on it, just like what Austin said then proceed to talk about beaches (which they did preview in the last twitter shot!) and roads + flight model.

Where does Austin contradict that? And what did you hope to prove by the out of context and half quotes you gave other than reiterate that x-plane 11 dsf look outdated?

I will ask again are you deliberately taking everything you read out of context? It seems so, in every response, frankly.

MADE MY WEEKEND !!! MONTH !!!! YEAR !!!!

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

When you notice the Episode about the World is 90% about the flight model you know it's gonna be a great sim for the flight physics enthusiasts. Perhaps not for the folks who also enjoy the world exploration part (such as myself).

I apologize for not being able to make myself understandable to you.

I was a bit disappointed by episode one. I kept looking down at the title card “World” and wondered if we’d get back on topic. I know Austin is so passionate about all of xplane and can’t be help to one segment of the sim though, especially when his expertise is the flight model.

It also (from what I remember) was a regurgitation of an earlier presentation.

oh well, will be very interesting to see xplane 12 when it comes out.

Actually, I really enjoyed the discussion. My very special friend mtaxp just a few days ago attested another commenter here

It is a great upgrade from XP11 but to me it is XP11.6 🙂

Which, well... aged like milk. Hence he has to do some damage control now 😄
