Flythemaddog vs PMDG 737 performance?

Featured Replies

If you are using a 4K HDTV and it has a judder reduction filter, set it to max and set your display refresh rate to 23hz. Then never worry about FPS impact of an addon ever again.

Get PMDG 737 no doubt. Performance aside, the quality of texturing and modeling of PMDG 737 is top notch and cheaper

That’s not what OP asked. He already has the 737.

‘And even if he didn’t and could only buy one, it’s not as clear cut as that. It just depends what aircraft type you prefer to fly.

‘Maddog and 737 performance is pretty much equal on my system, are they are both great planes,

I was so concerned about performance that I ditched all thee of the lovely mainliners and switched to this:

I'm a little disappointed with the graphics, but I'm getting 10,000 FPS!

Hehe...sorry guys....could NOT resist! 🤣

All 3 run acceptably on my system, and I certainly would not prevent myself from enjoying the MD if it was a frame or 2 slower than the 737...we as a general group seem to be so obsessed with slight performance differences that we'll talk "spiritedly" about it for ages, and in the end, may wind up nixing a great plane because of a few frames.  Naturally, if its a true performance hog and you wind up counting frames with a calendar, then there is a problem...but generally, when your system is tuned properly, you can enjoy just about any respectable title out there. 😉

Now that you‘ve heard two opposing opinions, I‘ll finish that up with: on my system 737 and Maddog perform equally.

Same to me, but she feels a bit smoother at all.. ( at least on my system )

cheers 😉

I'll have to check what's going on. With the PMDG I'm getting a solid 30 at San Diego and that's because my frames are looked at 30. Now tried the Maddog and I'm at 26 to 29. Does not sound right to me.

Of course the MD80 has the least performance since it is a direct port from P3D.  No great textures or sound to process.  It was a waste of money for me, but you may like low quality textures and sound ....

Possibly the most inaccurate post this year in all respects.

I'm always surprised when a thread like this doesn't include the Just Flight BAe 146 as one of the best airliners.  So for me, all FOUR run great on my system.  Flies great, has good systems depth, great textures and is a step up in challenge.
