Cabin Views - How to

Featured Replies

When I watch YouTube videos, people are able to walk in and out of the plane or into the cabin.  How is this accomplished?

I don’t know, but I too am curious!

I saw a review the other day where they “walked” down the jetway of an airport and through the open door of the 3D interior of the plane, peeked in the cockpit then sat down in the cockpit and proceeded to fly?

Another young streamer kept switching to stunning views of Bologna as he landed his B737.

I’ve tried a few times, but inevitably end up screwing up my views to the point where I can’t get back in the cockpit!

Would love to be able to set it up Carenado XP11 style where a hit of the number pad numbers could let you sit in the passengers seat, first officer’s seat, etc.

Most do it with a Xbox game controller. Just to make sure you delete all flight control mapping as it will set them by default.

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

"But you can also shift the camera from left to right and top to bottom via the use of the Right ALT key and the Arrow keys. In some planes, you’re even able to use this method to translate your view into the back of the airplane’s cabine, as seen in the image at the top of this post."

That's how you walk in the cabin. I use other keys though, because I changed them. I use just the arrow keys to move to the cabin and walk around.

Assign an xbox controller or PS4 controller to the drone cam.  Works like a charm on PC - I am using Steam.

You can easily use an Xbox controller on a PC. Just plug it in via a USB cable or use a wireless connection. MSFS will immediately recognize it. The Xbox controller is my preferred MSFS input, both for controlling the aircraft and for controlling POV camera angles.

But it makes it easy to walk around in the drone cam that what I was getting at. And you can use an xBox controller on a PC via usb....

Cool topic.  Long time simmer but never got creative with camera views and never look at the aircraft exterior except on the ground as it ruins the immersion factor (at least for me).

An exception would be to put a GoPro virtual view on the wing  : )

Not sure if this was the ops point, but I have never used a game console or had one in the house, so a controller would be an extra purchase just for the PC.

Best Regards,

Mark
