  1. Hi Forest, CLW and PCM are in my (virtual) backyard. They are daily flyers here in ‘24, purchased in the 2020 marketplace. I also run PIE, RSW and SRQ extensively in ‘24. As a test, try a clean install into an otherwise empty community folder to isolate the problem. Depending on what happens, send an email (or use Discord) to Verticalsim for assistance.
  2. Remove it and try a clean install. I have almost every Verticalsims airport running nicely in 24. if the problem persists, Andrew is very responsive and helpful.
  3. The aircraft itself is a pleasure to fly. The FM is excellent and systems (so far) seem to be nicely modeled. The manual is very well written, but almost completely P3D centric. I do hope GTN integration comes at some point. Still cannot find a MSFS (current) video posted. No apparent promotion or input from the developer. No word on patches, updates or functionality scheduled. Email based support. This has the potential to be a great add-on, but it’s not there yet.
  4. Took it up for a hop last night. I also ran into (no) brakes. It uses hidden click-spots for many functions we would expect in an EFB. It seems like systems are modeled with a bit more depth than the FSW, with things like some CBs and battery temp monitoring. Manual is excellent, but seems focused on P3D. The flight model (from a very limited flight) seems great, with a feeling of inertia. Panels and textures looked great. Knowing the 35a, it was easy (and fun) to jump in and get it in the air. Sounds were excellent. However, I didn’t see any custom bindings (could have missed it?). The wx radar was a static image, although I need to read up on it. It seems to be different enough from the 35a that it warrants a try, and everything I tried besides GTN integration and brakes worked well for a VFR flight. Seems like it needs work to fully integrate into MSFS.
  5. Does the TDS or PMS 750 bypass the GNS LPV issues? I mostly putt around Florida VFR when time allows, but sometimes go IFR. I was thinking about picking up the F33 or T210, but maybe this would be fun, bugs and all?
  6. [Installer worked fine for me; 2024 Store version] Tried the update. For me, the autopilot still will not reliably lock onto a GPS track, heading off to a seemingly random heading . Very inconsistent. Using it exclusively with PMS GTN. I will try the 530 later today.
  7. I kept going back to XBox games app, which wouldn’t load at all either. After no apparent changes on my PC, XBox app appeared and I could launch it. I was then able to run Update within the XBox app. Now, both simulators are back up and running.
  8. May be a security problem with Win 11? If I click (almost) any window, including the MS Store or XBox window, the display changes tint slightly, similar to when I load certain FS apps that give a security warning. Chrome web browser is not affected. I checked Orbx installer and it's also fine. Last install was a small update from Orbx yesterday.
  9. My MSFS PC stays pretty clean, with no other use that FS. This morning, I tried launching 2020. A second or two where it appears to launch; no spash screen ...then, nothing. No errors, no splash or load. Ethernet connection is good - solid up/down. No problems with web browsers or sites. I went to 2024 and had the same problem. Exact same thing; no load. Tried renaming my Community folder, but Windows says it's in use. Nothing strange in Task Mgr. Checked XBox app. Tried launching directly using the XBox "Play" option - same problem. FWIW, XBox Insider Hub will not launch at all. Any ideas? Thank you,
  10. I have severe color deficiency in my vision. Because of this, I have learned to be very sensitive to contrast. I also use Windows and Mac OS color filters which help tremendously. FS itself has always seemed to be 'blown out' and out of white balance. But, having flown the virtual skies for so many years now, I don't think about it much. Today, I decided to try Atmos and ...WOW. The ability to make coarse adjustments to the environment and fine tune colors, (what appears to be) saturation and RGB settings among others has turned this into a whole new sim for me. Besides the sky and cloud contrast, the ability to change greenery makes a huge improvement to my in-sim depth perception. For me, it's a real game changer and it's reasonably priced. Thanks REX!
  11. I have installed some very poor quality add-ons, along with many incredibly good ones. But yesterday was the first time I ever felt that my money was "taken" for something completely unusable and not up the standards of MSFS. Glancing at the kludge of textures in the 707 cockpit and cabin, it was easy to see so many errors, including LEDs where there should be none, light leaking in from outside, landing gear inside the cabin and lack of any attention to depth and realism, even in the look and feel of the product. I really wanted to like this one, knowing fully that it would be a basic rendition. The cabin should not have been modeled at all. It doesn't even remotely capture the feel of an airliner cabin. For example, there is another 707 for an older MS platform, released in 2010. The 15 year old project is lightyears above the current 707 in basic look-and-feel, even features. I didn't expect INS, FMS or anything in-depth. However, the nose wheel does not move. I also could not steer with the tiller. The aircraft taxied horribly, one moment turning in response to input and the other going straight as if input wasn't applied. Like many, I was truly excited for this release. Even after experiencing the problems, I still wanted to like it. However, I ended up deleting it and will pursue a refund, for the very first time ever. In spite of this, MSFS has given me so many amazing experiences. This is just one case that stands out, because I expect better from MSFS (at the end of the day, their name is on the sim), even if it means not approving a product for release.
  12. If my memory is right, 2020 premium deluxe was $119 four years ago. For that price, I received many hundreds of hours of enjoyment over the years. When I heard about the pre-order yesterday, it was pretty simple. What is the highest level available? (I didn't see the collectors edition adding much value to the sim itself.) I may not immediately need or use everything in the AV Edition. However, for the small investment, I don't want to potentially miss out on features or options down the road. Aviators Edition - click, done!
  13. Be sure you've run the SWS uninstaller first. If you still have the z-SWS...? folder in community, it hasn't uninstalled. You mentioned disabling your anti-virus. ...was that 3rd party or Windows Defender? I did run into a problem where Windows Defender flagged it as a false positive. I had to click "run anyways" for setup to execute. Try making a manual exception in Windows Defender if you haven't already and turn off any 3rd party AV, if you have it. Also, be sure to just double-click the executable. Don't run it as administrator.
  14. I'm revisiting low and slow in the Vans RV10. I'm not an IRL pilot, so just learning and remembering subtle details as I go. Several times now, I need to remove a hold from a procedure or vector myself to the 2nd leg in a procedure using the 530. Seems like I can advance through waypoints using the knob but I cannot find how to delete a waypoint in the procedure, which is usually a 'hold'. Sorry, I don't have a screenshot. Any help is appreciated.
  15. If everything else is optimized, I could not see a benefit going beyond 32GB. 16GB DDR4 actually worked well, but was right on the edge of maxing out. Somewhat related is updating the chipset drivers for your motherboard and storage devices. I went directly to Intel and Realtek for the latest drivers. Installing them not only resolved micro-stutters but CTDs and (surprisingly) a BSOD. I was right on the verge of thinking my memory was faulty, or some other hardware component. YMMV, but updating motherboard drivers resolved two big problems for me.
  16. I've really been enjoying the TBM 850 lately. A month or 2 ago, there was mention of an update coming to the 850, including an EFB (similar to the Duke) and other small enhancements, due right after FSExpo. Are these still coming or any new info?
  17. The update looks very good! Easy on frames is important to me.
  18. Interesting you mention too many aircraft to fly. I feel the same way. I try to focus on just one, but there are so many excellent choices and the next shiny thing always gets my attention. My go-to favorites …because they’re the highest fidelity in my opinion (GA is all I fly): * BlackSquare Dukes (Grand Duke) * BlackSquare TBM 850 (A major update is coming?) * FlySimWare Lear 35A * Cows DA42 * FlightFX VisionJet
  19. Not at the sim rn, but look at the switch panel, near the throttle quadrant (lower middle area). Small toggle switch.
  20. About 15 years ago, I flew an IRL flight on a 777-??? from Orlando to Atlanta. About a 40 minute flight. Likely Delta, because I remember being bumped to 1st class. The remaining four and a half hour hop from ATL to LAX was economy on a 737. Still, an amazing ride
  21. The Microsoft Force Feedback Pro stick was released in 1997 and I used it extensively in FS and, if memory serves correctly, SubLogics ATP. After releasing another, not so great model 2, these seemed to go the way of the dinosaur. I mention the history because that model sold me on Force Feedback. It added so much to the feel of flying. The texture and surface of the runway, the feel of lifting off and situational awareness, even in those days was impressive. Nice to see these coming back (for flight) with a few manufacturers. With higher volume sales, I am hoping prices will come down a bit. Until then, I think many of us are hoping our Honeycombs hang in there.
  22. So glad that Raul chimed in on this. The most important thing is to think out of the box and evolve this product so it continues to live a long life. That can't happen if nothing changes in our virtual world. Another "study level" this and that is great, and I see no indication that complexity was removed. I have "studied" for the last 50 years of my life and there are times when a low-level early morning VFR hop is inspiring. I also seek to do something more than spawning in the cockpit, taxi, roll out, climb etc. Again, nothing wrong with that as it's the core of what we do ...but why limit the experience? Gone are the days when we loaded software and called libraries into memory and lived in our own client-based CPU/GPU world of solitude, unless invoking "multi-player". I hope the barriers are lifted and this is the beginning of a world teaming with life. All just my opinions. Let's enjoy this great hobby!
  23. The release date appears to be solid, and not far from the historical August/September release dates of FS past. Overall impression is that this 2024 world feels alive and vibrant with bustle, intent and purpose. That hit me in the first few seconds with the busy airport. The refresh rate seemed to bring character and life to the cities. I remember there was talk about 2024 being a lighter weight client. Perhaps more rendering taking place on Azure before even hitting the local CPU, GPU. 2020 has given us four years of incredible flights and memories so far. I can hardly wait for the next chapter to unfold.
