Gillespie Field (ICAO:KSEE) is a county-owned public towered airport, 12 miles northeast downtown San Diego and the beach in California. The airport is mostly used for general aviation, with 3 runways. Gillespie is the home of San Diego Air & Space Museum Annex, the ASTREA (the air support unit of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department) and a dozen of other businesses and flight clubs/schools like my club Plus One Flyers. Free to download : https://flightsim.to/file/36679/gillespie-field-ksee As for all of my MSFS mod, this small scenery is made from a pilot-eyes perspective. In real, I'm a Plus One Flyers member and mostly fly from Montgomery Field but Gillespie is one of the fourth base. I'm real PPL but a rookie amateur scenery developer: this mod is made with 99% of MSFS default objects library and feature massive number of details. The scenery is inspired by some of my personal videos and pictures, but mostly by high resolution aerial views from Bing and Google maps. It's a mix between the satellite imagery displayed from MSFS and more accurate data found on Internet. 1800+ objects have been added to the default scenery to make in more live and bring a touch of an active area. Features Taxiways : all corrected and fixed 150+ taxiway signs : complete redesign, correct name according to last charts, add some of the two sided taxiway sign, example at D5). Taxiway lines: complete redesign, position and correct, add "center line enhanced" represented 1400+ taxiway paths. Buildings: all airport hangars/FBO's and buildings have been replaced by MSFS objects library: Speer Hangar Assoc, Allen Airways Flying Museum, California Flight Academy, American Aviation Academy, SAA (Scandinavian Aviation Academy), ASTREA, Golden State Flying Club, Safari Aviation, Southern Cal Aircraft, High Performance Aircraft, Terminal, S.D Aerospace Museum, Circle Air, El Cajon Pilot Supply.. Fences: 90% of external fences and gates. Ground markings: Big TAXI yellow ground markings to avoid confusion with runways 27R and 27L and handcrafted (amateur) red intersection runway. Helipads at Mercy Air and on the transient apron north of the Terminal. Reveal of Compass Rose west of the field on D1 Windsocks: correct placement and addition Night blue light poles: remove the maximum of undesired extra poles More than 150 taxiway signs... ... with specific one here and... ... and here Requests I need you : there're several specific signs on taxiways that I found like "ATC NON VISUAL AREA", "Be a Good Neighbor". These make the scenery unique and I look for others I was unable to identify. If you have pictures, feel free to share with me! The tower is the autogenerated MSFS one: if you want to build a (light) blender object... you are welcome! ASTREA Tower apron's fuel island Golden State Flying Club Golden State Flying Club High Performance Aircraft High Performance Aircraft San Diego Air & Space Museum annex San Diego Air & Space Museum annex Terminal Allen Airways Airline museum Scandinavian Aviation Academy SAA Flight Training Mercy Air helipads Circle Air Group Enjoy this free amateur scenery! https://flightsim.to/file/36679/gillespie-field-ksee

The Banning Municipal Airport is a city-owned airport located about a mile southeast of Banning, in Riverside County, California. It’s a single asphalt runway that can accommodate various aircraft, including private single-engine planes and corporate jets. Free to download at https://flightsim.to/file/75708/kbng-banning-municipal-airport The airport is located between the Los Angeles bassin and 10 miles west of Palm Springs international airport. There’re some hangars, a fuel island and a small FBO. During the summer season, it hosts firefighting various aircraft despite being close to Hemet. Remarks: Unfortunately, the city of Banning has began phasing it out with the approval of FAA releasing the city from its obligation to keep its in operation. FEATURES Add a real Tetrahedron (Landing Direction Indicator). The Tetrahedron is dynamic with the wind. Replace AI generated buildings with more realistic stock/free MSFS objects (see requirements) Add custom ground painting and replace all aprons textured Add hundreds of small objects to make the airport a more living and immersive environment. Mostly with stocked objects which requires no 3rd party library. See requirements below. Add several handcrafted objects all around the field (sign, ad, iconic object,…) Add a new startup helicopter positions Add all fences around the airport Add a lot of signs and boards here and here on buildings, gates and fences Add open hangars, some are empty waiting for you Clean vegetation and TIN here and here Extensive work to clean the underlying Bing texture to match with object Clean all night unrealistic blue poles. Add passive blue sticks Fix the windsock positions Fix the PAPI 2 lights runway 26 position Fix right traffic pattern runway 26 Remove all non-existent taxiway signs and add the correct ones Free to download at https://flightsim.to/file/75708/kbng-banning-municipal-airport More screenshots available in the screenshots forum section:

Some various screenshots I've taken over some scenery generated with FSEarthTiles. It's an amazing program, it really enriches FS2004 for those with older legacy aircraft they enjoy. John

Well, after the "big storm" Thursday morning, where we may be received a couple of hundredth inches of rain, I look outside my window and see another clear blue sky. Time to go flying, and since it is so nice for the dead of winter, an open cockpit biplane is in order! Going to take off from KWVI, Watsonville. I have a good real-life association with Watsonville Muni, as that is where my Dad hangered his semi-aerobatic ... damn, can't remember the make! It was a fabric-skin, high-wing aircraft, with stick and rudder controls and front and rear seating rated for aerobatic maneuvers. It was a "semi", cause if you went inverted you had to point her to the ground to restart the motor. But, we used to load up the 22's and fly out to Hollister, land in the middle of nowhere and go rabbit hunting. Pick up the tail, turn her around, and up and away we went, mind the power lines on your way out! The first and only aircraft I ever piloted. Since FTS announced that the upcoming Orbx Northern California will extend as far south as Monterrey, I thought it would be interesting to take some "before" pictures to compare against the will-buy-as-soon-as-released Orbx terrain. Using P3D 1.4, Alabeo WACO, and Opus weather engine, not that it was doing anything... I just can't figure out why the roads in FSX/P3D are so wonky. The screen shots I have seen from XPX are stunning in their depiction of roadways, but noooo, we get roads drawn by a kindergartner. Umm, I think that is the Seacliff pier down there. Here we have the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. Looks like it took a hell of a beating from the Japanese tsunami... And this is the Santa Cruz Boardwalk pier. Looks kind of funny for something you can drive cars on... And Pleasure Point Park. That tree is supposed to be a lighthouse! A pretty girl on a pretty day. By the way, I have Zinertek Trees installed - fabulous add-on if you like trees! Back to the Boardwalk pier. The Boardwalk, including the famous Giant Dipper roller coaster, should be behind the plane. It will be REALLY interesting to see what the Orbx guys do here. Opus lies - the skies are clear as they can be today. And back home. Looking forward to repeating this when the new Orbx Norcal region is released!

Following on the heels of my previous flight from Monterrey to Santa Maria, I thought I would post (again, real weather according to looking outside the window and Opus) another flight in the miserable paradise we call California. Flying with P3D 1.4, Orbx FTX Global, and Opus with REX OD textures. Drought be damned, this January has been one for the books! This time I wanted to go low and slow, and flew the Manfred Jann C-47. If you do NOT have this aircraft I most highly recommend picking it up. It is a FABULOUS freeware aircraft, and the sound packs from TuFun (Ted) make it all the better. Check it out over on SOH. It is a an aircraft with "soul" - ######-poor visibility out the cockpit, flies like a big yellow bus, but it is just FUN!!! Here we have a really nice startup sequence. Lots of coughing, stumbling, and blue smoke. Contact - ready to go. Flying from Mariposa to Auburn, CA, along the base of the Sierra Nevada. This is just a sweet aircraft, and there are a ton of paints available for it! Orbx and Opus at its finest. Have to say, Mister Venema really likes power lines... Love this time of day... Co-pilot informed me we are not landing there - no cantina in sight - go for the the strip at upper right instead. (Perfect example of mesh problems) It just does not get much better than this, does it... Late evening, CAVU conditions, and a cantina in sight! It is really remarkable what FTX Global does with run of the mill airports, in this case Auburn, CA.

Hey guys I can't wait to fly the 777, but I was wondering, do you guys know any flights that depart/land from/in California, that are no longer than 3 hours max? I read there used to be one from San Diego (ksan) to San Fransisco (ksfo). And while I am posting this, anyone know the best Southwest virtual airline? There are quite a few! Thanks, Daniel

Air Fresno Receives first of new 737-600 Fleet. Fresno, California - Friday, June 15, 2012 In a marked celebration Air Fresno executives arrived aboard the airlines newest addition to it's fleet, the Boeing 737-600. The former SAS aircraft spend a considerable amount of time at the Dee Howard Company in San Antonio, Texas, begin refurbished and repainted into the airlines classic 1999 livery. Since April the airline has been operating using its previously stored Embraer EMB-120's on shorter regional routes, waiting for the arrival of the Next Generation 737's to once again provide adequate service the central California hub. The -600's are presented in the livery the airline originally took a year after it's launching, the scheme remained popular when it was introduction onto www.flightsim.com in February, 1999, as seen on a Chan Ken modeled 737-200 Advanced. A number of other aircraft types also wore the livery for the next nearly 10 years before the airline tried a series of updated liveries. Airline CEO Peter McKay made the decision to scrap the newer styles and readopt the striking red, white and blue style that became familiar during it's heyday. Air Fresno plans to eventually operate a total of six Boeing 737-600's by the end of the summer, connecting Fresno to points in the San Francisco Bay area as well as Los Angeles.

freeware Agua Caliente Springs (L54)
vbazillio posted a topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Agua Caliente Springs Airport serves residents of rural east San Diego County and visitors to Agua Caliente Hot Springs County Park. It’s located 95 miles east of San Diego. The airfield looks like a blacktop field next to a two-lane desert highway in the middle of nowhere. Approach runway 11 is challenging and weather permit it’s highly recommended to land on runway 29. Free to download: https://flightsim.to/file/66221/agua-caliente-springs-l54 Agua Caliente has only one runway 11/29 with 2500 x 60 feet (762 x 18 meters). Wind permitting use of runway 29 for landing and runway 11 for departure recommended due to a 460 feet hill 1/2 mile west of the airport. Right Pattern runway 29. Left pattern runway 11. Runway 11/29 closed Sunset-Sunrise; Not lighted. More pic available on the screenshots forum section:- 4 replies
