February 6, 201412 yr Some various screenshots I've taken over some scenery generated with FSEarthTiles. It's an amazing program, it really enriches FS2004 for those with older legacy aircraft they enjoy. John
February 6, 201412 yr John, Sign me up for that scenery! That is some great looking stuff! Regards, Joe Esposito
February 6, 201412 yr I wasn't sure if FSET worked for FS9, but it seems to work nicely. I've only just downloaded it and I'm pretty much clueless as far as where to start. Thanks for the motivating screenshots, John!! Thanks for the motivating screenshots, John!! Cheers, Jeff U r welcome. I am still working some kinks out in the generation of the scenery--namely the ocean, I get white tiles at the Pacific Ocean. I suspect it is due to the source I am using but not certain. Still learning too, but my inland areas look much better than I imagined photoreal scenery could look in MSFS. Most shots were taken around the Napa Valley with some around Nevada. I have an updated .ini file you can use but I would suggest waiting. My goal is to generate California (with parts of Arizona, Oregon, Mexico and Nevada) and upload to our library, but the project will probably take a few weeks. JC
February 6, 201412 yr Ok John, great, thank you. If you'd like to send me a link for the ini, I could at least start playing around with the program and get my feet wet a little. When you have time, no rush. I'm looking forward to seeing how you make out from here. The first shots are very encouraging. Cheers!! February 6, 201412 yr Nice, FS9 has many more good years in it. Seems so! :-) We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. February 6, 201412 yr I did more research on rolling out scenery for FS2004 and it seems the only work I need to do is for areas that border up next to an ocean, since most mapping companies don't map the ocean textures. Either that, or I have to go with a less sharp resolution, but I'd rather not. Last night I started compiling the Washington DC metro area, and if it turns out nice that will be my first library release. The batch job is running and probably by the time I get home from the office today, the scenery will be ready to try. The area will be roughly 22,000 sm. John
