Cool.

I haven't tried the memory trimmer with MSFS running yet, but my passive memory usage on loading the tool was 8000Mb and the initial list purge reset it to 2Mb.    That can't be a bad thing!

Going to try it with the sim running now 👍

Thanks for the link. Asobo really ought to fix the memory leak during long hauls, now that PMDG Leonardo and Fenix aircraft are released in MSFS more and more people are coming forward and shining more light on this issue. Hopefully the delay in SU10 is a solution to this major issue. I know that PMDG have been in contact with Asobo about this performance degradation.

It's a real kick in the %#@$ when you're 2 plus hours into a flight and all of the sudden everything freezes.

It is odd that some suffer from this problem and some don't. I guess Im one of the lucky ones because since the PMDG 737 was released, I've been flying long hauls (2hrs+) and I have not seen this issue creep up in my setup, 40fps most of the time with 37 being the lowest.

I guess it depends on which areas you fly in or around. I can fly from Cork EICK to Tenerife GCTS and back which is a 8 hour round trip and not have a single performance drop, but if I fly from Manchester EGCC to Hurghada HEGN and back which is a 12 hour round trip my performance will drop by over 50%. I dont have PG installed for any region, so that isn't the cause.

Interesting, will fly this route when I have the time.

So you are saying that by removing PG, the problem goes away?

No, but general performance is improved when PG is removed. It doesn't fix the performance degradation over time though.

Ahh I see. I haven't tried flying without PG, I will give it a try and see if there a any differences performance wise, will also try that route you mentioned.

Generally any flight or time spent in the sim at or after 7 hours you will start to see a considerable degradation of performance.

Has anyone bothered to monitor VAS usage to determine if it really is a memory leak.

Even more interesting, Saturday I went from KMFE to KDFW then to KLAS from there to KORD then back to KDFW with final destination back to KMFE,  that was more than 7 hrs total flying around with no issues whatsoever.

What i find hard to understand is since the release of both the PMDG 737, and Fenix a320, i have had no stuttering at all.. Not one. I do 2-3 hr flights regularly, and have not had any issues at all. Prior to these new aircraft i did suffer both stuttering at times, and the occasional problems after a couple of hours. specs below.
