June 30, 20223 yr Author He still cannot accept he's wrong, I operate the CRj as "The Dude" explained in his tutorials. Pressing Lnav should not cause the aircraft to swing back and for along it's path, I guess you must be one of the testers with the blind failth you give to the product. We obviously are never going to agree, but i'll tell you one thing, i'll never buy another aircraft from Aerosoft. June 30, 20223 yr Carl geez I said it works for me and many others is all. What's exactly "wrong" with that? I also happily admitted I don't know how it's supposed to work, I just know it tracks LNAV well and does not zig-zag for me, with exactly how I fly the plane. What's "wrong" with that? Perhaps you're saying because I really like the plane I'm wrong, because it isn't worth liking. If so that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. So yes, what exactly am I not accepting that I'm "wrong" about? It overshoots the turn and makes some steep bank changes to try and get back on course. Did a second flight from KCLT to KMEM with the same type of turn 20+ miles out of Charlotte. CRJ made the turn much better than last time. But then I caught a CTD for the first time in months. That'll teach me. I'm not holding my breath that Aerosoft will fix this bug. It's been around in all the releases of the CRJ. The CRJ X, CRJ Professional and now in the MSFS version. Seems Hans always has something else to do before he can get around to looking at the problem. -J 13700KF | RTX 4090 @ 1440 | 64GB DDR5 | 2 x 1TB SSDs | 1TB M.2 NVMe
July 1, 20223 yr I learned my lesson with P3D v4.5. The AS CRJ was a beautiful airplane but there were issues with the AP, CTDs, and then they had the audacity to want to charge me for an upgrade when they released their new fleet. I paid full price, waited almost a year to have the airplane updated, then they wanted me to pay some more. I was done! MSFS

On my first attempt at the route the aircraft would not follow Nav for some reason (probably pilot error) however in heading mode it made the turns properly with no hunting. Oh well, there are a other toys to fly now. I guess we'll see what the next update brings. Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.
July 1, 20223 yr Here's what I see on all flights in the CJR700. No zig zag, no overshoot, just solid tracking in LNAV. Apparently many others experience the same. All might flights are done using the MSFS World Map flight planner, then I will manually input waypoints off of MSFS' NavLog. The first couple of listed waypoints I don't input--something like D1, and D1000 I don't even know what they are. The beginning of this flight involved an ~140 degree turn to the left after TO and no problem w/ the plane turning correctly to intercept the flight path. The video is 7min long and finishes w/ an ILS approach into CYSJ. July 1, 20223 yr Yes and I see you're still tuned in I hope you enjoyed the video. I'm glad to demonstrate how the woes that make the plane not work for you and some others do not apply to others and most likely a majority of others. It's a great plane despite its modest shortcomings. Listen, i am glad it works fine for you, i really am, but for a lot us it does not. You seem to have a real issue with believing others could have a totally different experiance to you. So be a good chap and accept others do have a differing experiance with that plane than you.have, and i believe there's more with issues than not. July 1, 20223 yr Carl I've not doubted you're reporting your experience accurately as are others. But quite apparently many don't have any issues which is why it's patently false to say the plane always zigzags, overshoots turns, can't reliably grab glide slope because quite clearly it does for some if not a majority. I think neither of us knows how many have issues after they've learned how to operate the plane and how many have not. If it's a small minority with issues then it becomes potentially very difficult to troubleshoot. Could be some piece of conflicting software, something to do w/ controllers interacting w/ LNAV somehow, who knows it could be anything. Anyway, I like to paint the full picture lest people summarily dismiss the AS CRJ as it's really a nice plane. Had I not read otherwise and just read your opener, I'd not take a second look and would have missed out greatly. July 6, 20223 yr Version 1.0.17 screwed up the radios and an update is going to be a few weeks away so now it's unflyable. This jet is great but it is making me lose my patience with Aerosoft. I haven't had a ton of problem with LNAV but I have had a ton of issues with CTDs when manipulating the FMC but those issues are seemingly fixed. I get a lot more CTDs after SU9 in general, nothing to do with the CRJ, Does it with PDMG and FBW and stock airplanes. Not super happy with MSFS right now in general.

I fly it all the time: a temporary workaround solves the radios issue, it's just another couple of buttons to set correctly as you're configuring your plane during pre-flight. I'm not fond of temporary workarounds but I have to admit this isn't much to add to get you ready to commence pushback.
