All the PDF manuals gathered together.

Featured Replies

I keep a few PDF user manuals filed away, and wondered if I was missing any that I never noticed.

The file search utility that I use found them all in official (23) and community (33).

I highlighted them all in that search window (Control + A) , and copy pasted them to a new folder to have a nice alphabetical library.

Sure beats trying to hunt them all down one at a time.

All of these type of free or pay search utilities work about the same.

That's a good idea, thanks for sharing, i also had the need to have all PDF easily accessible.

Just for info, i think you are a user of addons linker, i added a function 2 or 3 versions ago to have a documentation browser directly inside the tool (will scan your custom addons folder and official folder, maketplace ones + custom folder if you need to add some for documentation that is not in the main folder like the maddog for example). Maybe worth checking for a free alternative (although probably ultrafilesearch has more functions since it's a professional tool). The little advantage with AL is that it's made specifically for the sim so it knows all the folders already and files can be grouped 'by addon'. Can probably be improved like adding support of other extensions in addition to pdf, .....

bit of self-promotion since i think not many people are aware and use that function 🙊 😛🥂

I use Total Commander  but it works the same way. One caveat is that you will miss manuals that are not in PDF format, although I don't know of any except the SDK.

@Bad_TThanks for pointing this out. Your program gets better and better!

I wasn't! 🙂
Fantastic!
Thank you once again for your outstanding tool.

Having duplicate copies of the manuals wastes disk space.  Personally, I would just create links to the manuals in Windows and copy them to a new folder.

Whichever way you do it, It's quite handy to keep them all in one place.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

I have a folder in the desktop called Manuals and move all the manuals there. that way I don't need to have another program open when I need a manual. Works nice for me.

woops, now that some people tested that feature, a little bug was discovered 🙊😱🙈 (thanks @Alvega for reporting 👍)

it seems the 'open' button was not working for the first PDF showing up in the list.

If you are interested you can get a fixed EXE here until i publish a new official version  -> https://gofile.io/d/r5rdmW

Note that it's also possible to view the documentation for a specific addon directly in the main views (left and right) via the right click menu 'documentation' as seen in the screen below. The main doc screen is always needed to refresh the documents when needed.

I have the manuals in a tablet.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).
