[Question] FENIX A320 and Toolbar Pushback

Featured Replies

Good evening to all!

Quick question, is anyone having any luck with the FENIX A320 and toolbar pushback? I saw a while ago it was causing problems but to be honest GSX is not here and the inbuild pushback engine is distracting when starting engines.

Also is there a dedicated forum for the FENIX?

Kind regards to all!

There has been no update to the toolbar pushback so...better to not sure.

The inbuild one can be hard to use. But with an iPad and the inbuild one on that, alone with an extenal view its works fine.

No Fenix forum.

They have a channel on Discord

over on their Discord channel, there are many folks using it, and some not.  Here is what I understand others have said;

  • may have a memory leak on long flight (excess of a few hours) thus a performance hit in the sim
  • may have issues using the 'lift' function of the pushback app, some turn it off
  • may have issues using the 'voice' function of the pushback app, some turn it off
  • may have issues using the 'pre planning' function of the pushback app, some turn it off

In following this closely, folks have used various combinations of the above for their installs.  For me personally, I have not been affected in any way using this plane and pushback app together to their full extent.  None of the items above have been confirmed by any official sources.  Fenix only places the warning screen up because user have stated they have been impacted by it.  Fenix themselves have not been able to reproduce it and are not intending to put a lot of resources in analyzing it (rightly so).  The app developer I understand is undergoing some personal real life issues that has limited his work on this.  This is what I know to date.

I have had all the above turned off, and have no problems with the app.

Not sure I understand this statement, if you indeed turned off all of the above - you are essentially not using the app, thus you of course would have no problems with.  Did you mean turned 'on'?

I use it for pushback. That is it's purpose. Preplanning and lift function, I am not interested in.

I have been using toolbar pushback since the Fenix was released and haven't had a single issue with it. Some say it causes a memory leak and performance loss after many hours, but that is a problem with MSFS and not the toolbar pushback as the performance loss after many hours happens with or without the toolbar pushback installed.

I just hope Asobo fix the performance loss in SU10 or SU11 as it really affects the enjoyment one gets out of MSFS after a certain amount of hour spent in the sim.

i got the warning message on my last flight but just went ahead and used it, without any issues. Short flight though.

I have all the 'extra' features turned off, voices, raise nose etc. and have zero issues.

Preplanning works fine as well with the Fenix A320
