June 22, 200718 yr Hi Andy,Hopefully the ATC speech is fast enough for you but if not I do have a means by which users could speed things up if they wish, as we offr the same functionality within our FDC Live Cockpit. This has not been included in version 1.0 but could easily be added at a later date.Yes we are a UK company. Getting products into GAME stores will be the job of the boxed cd publisher. I'm pretty certain who this will be but can't say just yet until having signed on the dotted line. However, I do know it is not an easy task and it certainly is not cheap to do so either.CheersDave March Email:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk

June 22, 200718 yr I can't wait to hear those audio samples, and of course the end of the month when it is released.A question for Dave, will having PFE and/or FDC Live cause a performance loss? And what happens to the default ATC soundpack, it just gathers dust or can you delete it?
June 22, 200718 yr Well ANY addon must use some resources and therefore decrease performance of FS. However we have not noticed any measurable performance hit either with FDC or PFE.We do not do anything with the FS ATC Soundpack... no need to...CheersDave March Email:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 22, 200718 yr One added feature that I like is what I call a SCENIC feature. Which means that you can zigzag your way around points of interest. For example I created a flight plan, KLAX to KSFO, which bypasses KSFO, just flying by, then continuing to past and north of San Francisco and doubling back and landing in KSFO.This can be done because PFE completes ALL waypoints in your flightplan. Whereas FSX and FS9 would make you land at KSFO as soon as you get close.Try any SCENIC flightplan, you'll enjoy it.Abe(PFE betatester)
June 22, 200718 yr Is Game Commander necessary to use the PFE. If so, will the Game Commander version from 2002 still work? Thanks in advanceMike
June 23, 200718 yr Mike, no it's not necessary to use it but it does work... not sure which version has been tested as I personally don't use it either but I know one or two of our testers did.CheersDave March http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_dev.jpgEmail:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 23, 200718 yr As promised I've uploaded a few sound sampleshttp://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/pfe.htmCheersDave March http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_dev.jpgEmail:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 23, 200718 yr Thanks. When you type in the email and serial code when you begin installation is this done via the internet? I ask because PFE will not be installed onto an internet rigged PC, but the setup .exe will be transfered via usb key from another pc in another room (I don't have a wireless network)...is this a problem (other than getting updates automatically), will it install?
June 23, 200718 yr >As promised I've uploaded a few sound samplesHm, well... that sounds from reasonable to bad imho. I noticed the pilot also talks with an accent...? Will it be possible to have the same pilotvoice all over the world?
June 23, 200718 yr There are currently 43 different voice sets and many different accents, so yes you would/could have the same PF/PNF voice but the controllers would change dependant on where you are.CheersDave March http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_dev.jpgEmail:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 23, 200718 yr We will initially be using the Flight1 e-commerce system for download and you will need internet connection to do that.CheersDave March http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_dev.jpgEmail:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 23, 200718 yr >Hm, well... that sounds from reasonable to bad imho.Well J van E that's the idea of putting some samples up for you to listen to... if you don't like 'em don't buy it!CheersDave March http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_dev.jpgEmail:[email protected] Website:http://www.oncourse-software.co.uk
June 23, 200718 yr >As promised I've uploaded a few sound samplesDave,The sound samples are pretty good considering that the sentences are assembled on the fly from many small soundfragments. As far as I can remember from other solutions based on the same concept, this sounds far better! This add on seems to be a must have!Ulf B :-)
