>>As promised I've uploaded a few sound samples>>Hm, well... that sounds from reasonable to bad imho. I noticed>the pilot also talks with an accent...? Will it be possible to>have the same pilotvoice all over the world?I just didn't like the controller takeoff clearence for Speedbird 17. It's a bit hard to understand. The rest of the voices seem ok to me.

>We will initially be using the Flight1 e-commerce system for>download and you will need internet connection to do that.>#### I won't be able to buy it then.

I vaguely remember that you could mod in your own soundset, given time and energy -- or am I remembering wrong? Either that, or I am recalling an old "casting call" for people to create voice sets with different accents. Or maybe I am thinking about a completely different product, like FDC. With my almost underwhelming ability to recall stuff, it's a good thing I do product reviews for Avsim, huh? Dave, if you could please correct my memory/comment on if it's possible for a user to mod PFE, that would be great!Jeff ShylukAvsim Product Reviewer

Yes, I agree. Dare I say it was too fast?? The best sound sample of all was the Cessna (3rd sample) WAV. Very good speed and easy to understand.

For the benefit of those interested in accented voices, you select one of the voices as the pilot/copilot and the controllers will use all others depending on your geographic location. The quality of the voice varies due to voices being recorded on different systems with different microphones. It's not like everyone went to the MS studios and recorded their voices.I know I have become very accustomed to the voices in RC and/or FS. So when an accented voice plays, you will need to listen closely until your ear adjusts to the accent. This is no different than real life.So basically, this product may not be for everyone, but if you have asked for accented ATC, this is the only program available that gives it to you.PF2000 gave one the option to record their own voice. Dave will have to respond whether this is available in PFE since I don't recall any testers creating new voice sets.Bruce

Guys,I've just uploaded a few more sample sounds... nothing too clever, just some of the same calls from various voice sets just to give you an idea of how each one differs. In total there are 43 voice sets so these samples show just a few. Unfortunately it's a bit time consuming piecing them together to show like this.I've also made the PFE User Guide available for those who would like to scan through itCheersDave March

Try VATSIM and see what it is difficulty to understand :)I'm glad about the Proflight return.Jos

OK, so I'm a little confused, is that a product in competition with Radar Contact?huh, looks interesting, especially since I'm in the ATC field...

Dave,Those new voice samples are a really good sampling of what's in the product. I think it gives people a better understanding of the variety of accents and sound quality.Bruce

<>How about when you're flying over Brooklyn?????????(-:

Real-life ATC voices are different from country to country and even from airport to airport. Real-life pilots cannot question the quality or clarity of a voice ("Uh...can you refer me to another controller, because I don't like your voice"). Pardon the irony. ;)To me, it's a part of the "as real as it can get".Pat

Yeah, some of the accents in those samples are very clear, others, not so much. It seems like they flow together better regardless of the accent, but I'm just gonig by samples. Either way, it sounds very good overall and definitely one I'll purchase.I can't get the Manual to work, and I did save it, as opposed to opening it.Seems you are very close to releasing it, so I hope it's in time for a couple flights tomorrow!
