Feature Discovery Series Episode 13: Garmin G1000 NXi

I'm sure there are plenty of people who have no idea this was even available as a free addon for many months.  It's an incredible piece of avionics in real life and is replicated quite well by Working Title here in MSFS.  I'm happy it will be the standard G1000 from now on.

its a top of the notch default navigation unit . don't make 3rd party addons better like Carenado. 3rd party addons systems and FM needs to step up in this sector. Better hurry before A2A release their first GA product

I think the WT stuff and other avionics like TDS and PMS do make aircraft better.  Right up there with actual flight handling, avionics are the next most important item to me.  When this sim was first released the options were abysmal...  Now we have a really nice Citation CJ4, G1000 equipped aircraft like the G36, SR22, DA62, BE58.  We also have all the GTN equipped aircraft (most of the Carenado fleet), the C414, C310, Piper Arrows/Warrior, Black Square Velocity/C208/King Air 350 upcoming, Sting S4, Azurepoly SB30, Hype H145 helo (that addon is really in depth!), .  Then of course once WT comes out with this GNS refresh, any aircraft having that GNS430 or 530 in the panel will be immensely more capable of navigation....especially if you're like me and you find yourself shooting more and more rnav(gps) approaches.  Aircraft with the GNS are basically almost all payware general aviation (because ones with GTN support originally have a GNS), many of the Reno racer aircraft, this new V35, the Famous Flyers namely the Twin Beech 18.  It's going to be awesome!  I do agree that more in depth systems and flight handling is desired - Milviz did a really nice job with their C310, I like the 414 but it's not quite as in depth.  And of course the upcoming PA24 from A2A will be very in depth.  It's a great time to be a flight simmer!

In the video, I love how Matt opens by saying the G1000 NXi for MSFS is the “most complete and advanced default avionics ever brought to a consumer simulator” 👍

Its outstanding otherwise  would be payware in other options.

Matt was saying in the Q&A last night it's almost 1:1 with the real life counterpart, they've done an incredible job with this piece of software integrated into the main Sim. Makes me look forward to all their future work.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

When they start improving the G3000, I will definitely use the Longitude more.

9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme
Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz
Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

We're very lucky to have such high quality default avionics. I've tried the GNXi in the beta, and although it's not feature complete yet, it's very solid. And with the further refinement of LNAV (DME arcs!) and VNAV (TOD, accurate VNAV descent profiles, RNP approaches), it'll be a blast to use it when SU 10 releases. I don't usually fly default aircraft, but I've got the Kodiak which uses the G1000. I think Asobo struck a gold mine when deciding to collaborate with Working Title.

It appears this is a signal that the G1000Nxi has reached developmental maturity, which like you I trust opens the door now for the G3000's path!  I love my Hjet now....  What will I think of it then....  I may just find myself logging hours back in the DA62 as a slower trainer to better prepare me!

The sky is the limit!
