September 10, 20223 yr What are the current recommended Autosave tools - I know FSUIPC has an option but is there anything else that is worth considering ? Mostly using pmdg 738 these days. 9800X3D + RTX 4080 + 64GB DDR5
September 10, 20223 yr As far I am aware apart of FSUIPC you can also use Volanta which has autosave function
September 10, 20223 yr Whilst there is no autosave in msfs, I do recall it being as a source of stutters in fsx so it's a mixed blessing really. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
September 10, 20223 yr I tried using FSUIPC's autosave but it caused a stutter for me. This was a few months ago. Also, I still have MSFS installed on a "regular" SSD (not on one of my M.2 drives). Still it's a Samsung SSD and of decent speed, but that SSD was supposed to be a storage drive -- it never really was intended for a flight sim install. I never dug into it too much, it's possible I could have loaded FSUIPC onto a specific core (using a batch file with a core mask on the exec line) and it would have avoided the stutter, but I've never tried that. September 10, 20223 yr I just got VOLANTA premium yesterday for this exast same reason. Works like a charm. Chewwy actually has a video where he CTD on short final on the 737, he then demonstrated recovering the flight. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight
September 10, 20223 yr I use FSUIPC and it works wonderfully. That said, for the PMDG 738, since the program automatically saves the panel state when you do a save game, game saving takes about 15 seconds whether FSUIPC does it or you do it manually in MSFS. So, expect a temporary freeze-up (I wouldn't call it a stutter). This is why I set FSUIPC at 20 minute saving intervals.
