September 19, 20223 yr These images are too familiar. I live in Mexico City and lived through the 8.2 quakes of 2017. Not something you want to experience, believe me. Back then, I lived in a 5th-floor duplex apartment, and my best escape route was to go to the rooftop using the spiral stairs inside the apartment. That day, my son (then 8) skipped school, and we were both at home when the quake started. The two of us ran to the stairs to escape and we just couldn't climb due to the violent shaking. We were literally stuck in the staircase and had to wait a bit for the wave to subside to get to the rooftop. Once there, another wave shook the building, and I remember embracing my son just waiting for the building to collapse. It was that bad. That day I learned the difference between oscillating and trepidatory waves. Luckily, we only suffered minor damages and were just scared sh...less. Others close to our place weren't that lucky. Living in Mexico City comes with such risks tho', but it's not something you get accustomed to (unless you live in the states of Oaxaca or Guerrero!) .. you just accept the possibility and hope for the best. On the other hand, many of these devastating quakes in Mexico City have happened during September, so many of us are usually wary of the month (regardless of it being independence day!). Today, for example, there's a city-wide earthquake drill, and just the thought of listening to the early-warning alert that comes out from the speakers (located in almost every street in the city) is as scary as a quake per se. At first I thought you were speaking of the duration of the quake, but then I realized you probably meant the length of the video. It was fortunate that the tall construction crane did not collapse. Also, that the stacks of Sony boxes appeared to be empty. However there appeared to be some major infrastructure collapses of bridges and elevated roads! Fr. September 19, 20223 yr Just to add to my last message... today we had a 6.6 quake here in Mexico City. For the third time, there was an actual earthquake following the city-wide drill I mentioned above. All on the same day: September 19. Friday the 13th, hold my beer! Enrique Vaamonde

Just turned on the game when the house began to shake! Quickly ran around checking the water lines and gas line for any leaks! Made the clock hanging on the wall start clanging!
