September 27, 20223 yr Historically I'm more of a virtual airliner pilot, but these days I am racking up hours flying in Alaska on my NXCub. I took off from Chunilna Cabin Strip (AK98) to the Stampede strip. Nice trip, quite abrupt transition on the ground between normal and snow textures, but great great weather and clouds. I did encounter a small difficulty at 6000 feet when I got too close to the clouds. Icing started to cover the windows and wing edges. I had to quickly descend to 3000 feet while turning on the cabin heat. Intense and immersive, even if icing conditions could be more punishing. Edited September 27, 20223 yr by RockOla tags
