Reinstalling After Uninstalling Purchased Planes

Featured Replies

If I uninstall a plane I purchased from Carenado (or any other plane) for troubleshooting purposes using Content Manager, will I be able to reinstall it later?  I'm using Steam.

Jim

Yes, you will find it by search or in "not installed" group.

I have done that several times, no problem at all.

Doesn't seem to work for me.  I am trying to delete and reinstall the Carenado PC12 due to a problem with the glass displays.  The plane remains in the sim.  Don't see it in the Community folder.

It is not in the Community folder.. but in the Official folder.

Hi Bert,

Excuse my ignorance but what is considered to be the official folder?

In case Bert doesn't see this for a while, I'll just say the Community folder and Official folder are both located in the same place, inside the Packages folder. Inside the Official folder is the OneStore folder, and inside the OneStore folder you will find aircraft, at least in a standard MS store install (I don't have the Steam version of MSFS).

The aircraft entries in the OneStore folder look like this on my system (in your case, look for a Carenado PC12 entry):

Use content manager as before. type in part of the a/c name like PC12 (maybe) and it will appear . From there

you will get a prompt to re-install it.

It deleted following ark's suggestion but now it is no longer in the Content Manager and I can't pull it up to reinstall.  Now what?

Well, I dug around in the Recycle Bin and restored it but of course it restored with the same problem it had which started all this.

Did you try restarting the sim to see if the PC12 shows up as available for download?  Although I have not done it, there has to be a way to reinstall MarketPlace purchases. Suppose one had to reinstall MSFS, say due to a disk failure. You certainly would not have to rebuy all your MarketPlace purchases.
