Seasons in MSFS

Anyways, back to the OP’s question…it doesn’t look like MS will getting around to it anytime soon. Pick one of the two options. I have Accuseason and find no fault in it. Also, they don’t disappear from the grid unpredictability, nor do they come to this website accusing people of stealing their Intellectual Property.

I flew a friends sim that had Accuseason, I have Bijan. Mine looks much more realistic, in my opinion.

I had bijan but I like accuseason because it changes daily without user intervention, and also has good regional variation.  I cant remember if the bijan had a wider radius ring or not.  If it did I might consider switching back but it sounds like thats asobos issue.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the nice comments. The radius ring is all MSFS code so nothing either product can affect. Thanks again.

Thanks for clearing that up, too bad but its still a major improvement over default.

...and unless Asobo is planning on adding something unique...

I would love to see them tackle seasons "organically", if you will:  programmable shaders linked to complex global scale geolocation data that links plant/tree morphology and coloration to that data.  The data might show that in the norther Colorado Rockies on north slopes leaf color change happens quite quickly, whereas is in more temperate areas much slower.  It's a mega project but the results could really mimic Ma Nature in a way befitting a 'simulator'.  It's just such a much more elegant solution over swapping in premade textures which seems so pedestrian nowadays.  That being said, nice to have the options we do have.

Don't know if this will show up but I did a video for my own comparison a while back -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgKg2L7zRjg

"A comparison between Rex AccuSeasons and Bijan's Seasons. Edinburgh to Glasgow in clear skies and light snow. AccuSeasons on the left, Bijan on the right. The light in the Bijan shots came out slightly darker than the Rex shots, but that's just the difference netween the two days when the videos were captured. Essentially, both products look pretty similar to me, at least at this location, but the AccuSeasons trees have more of a seasonal feel. The single flight was on Dec 24th, and replayed several times with different settings (Bijan/Rex) but with the same season and weather settings."

Personally I stuck with Bijan's, as there's all sorts of other good stuff vegetation-wise in his product
