Live Traffic Issue

Featured Replies

Greetings All,

Well, I know people are running into some troubles post SU11. Before you throw tomatoes, yes, I do stick with the baseline real traffic and ATC. It gives me a good balance of traffic without killing performance and having to run multiple programs. I had this great combination of real traffic that used AIG models. Once I upgraded to SU11, I no longer have real online traffic at all. I even reverted the the traffic bgl to default and nothing shows. I can use traffic communicator, PSXT and real traffic to inject traffic, but not the MSFS online traffic. I have the data traffic settings to on and the traffic settings to online, I even have the live traffic icon highlighted. I see other report weird behavior, but I have non at all. Just wanted to see if anyone else have these issues before doing a deep dive.

Rick I've had RT Online Traffic since SU11 but have turned it off as it's having a significant impact on stuttering.

I must admit, with it inop, I have been getting high FPS🤣

Odd, it’s working here.

Model and livery matching is broken though.

I must admit I never look at "FPS".  I look at Frametime Variance which correlates very well w/ perceived smoothness even at 30FPS.

Here we are prior to disabling RT Online Traffic:  frequent stutters:spacer.png

And after disabling RT Online Traffic:  Ultra smooth, stutter-freespacer.png

Here is what I do. I run FSLTL w/the AIGround mod. Online real-time traffic turned off in sim. No AIG. Just this which has its own injector. I have no bad liveries. No blank liveries. Planes take off and land. There is about a 5 minute delay before things start rolling but it is what it is.

Sorry but most planes don't land using that procedure. Most fly over the airport and go away. That's one of the main problems we have in SU11, as all the AI devs already confirmed. In some airports not even one plane lands. In other airports a very small percentage will land. You can check that with Little Navmap.

Only way now to have landings is using real time online traffic. If using the injectors there are almost no landings.

I just checked KDEN and did not see any landings, so you are correct. But last night I had a few. Even saw smoke on the landing. No idea.

Well, I bought FSHud a while back and it is creating traffic that it controls itself. It's interesting. I saw planes landing and I will confirm it again. I may attempt a soft reinstall to see if that fixes the issue. Other than that, I guess FShud is a go.

Do you see any micro stutters with the AI planes with FSHud?

Ironically, the AI traffic has been complaining about me lately as I often get lost on taxiways at airports I'm unfamiliar with. I tend to slowly roll by the gates looking for my number like an old person trying to find an address in a neighborhood.

Happens in the real world, I am big on airport study before arrival. At least in corporate, you are parking at a FBO and those are easy to find on a plate. Airline peeps will know where they are parking ahead of time even though it changes at the last minute at times. What you need is the navigraph chart subscription. Now, before people say it's not realistic, EFBs normally have charts and will show your position. Plus, in the G550, we have charts built within the planeview system that you can display on the on either NAV display with position as well. In fact, in the planeview system, the airport diagram automatically pops up on screen four a few seconds after touch down. So you can simulate this by opening navigraph from the MSFS menu bar and chart your way to the assigned gate with position info. Works like a charm!

Lol, I'm just imagining a 777 rolling along the terminal with the Captain squinting out the window trying to find his gate! (I know that's not really happening w/ commercial airliners, but still funny to think about).

I actually just started subbing to navigraph very recently (love having everything at my fingertips!), but I keep forgetting to pin the airport gate chart ahead of time, so I end up fumbling around trying to find it while trying to follow the taxi instructions. I've caused a lot of chaos at some pretty major airports.
