November 17, 20223 yr This just started happening to me Tuesday. I would be at an airport, and everything will be fine then I will change the time of day and after the time change takes effect the sim will freeze for 2 or 3 minutes (or longer). I can still change views and I can still pan around in spot view but that is it nothing else works. Also, right after the time change I will see a green message bar at the top of the screen saying, "airport cache has loaded successfully" (I don't think I've seen that message before). After minutes of waiting the sim will unfreeze and everything will be working normally again. What could be causing this? How do I stop it from happening? I did update GSX on Monday, could that be the cause of the problem? I did ask this question over at the P3D forum, but I am asking here also because I want to see what you guys think could be the problem.
November 17, 20223 yr Hi Joseph Yes the message you see on the top of the screen is part of gsx. I avoid updating gsx as most updates affect the stability of the program and is mostly for msfs. Regards. Clinton Royston Fernandes. Vabb-Mumbai India.

Since the latest updates, if I change time in the sim while the jetway is powering the aircraft, the jetway disconnects and the aircraft loses power. I only did the update because there were a couple of P3D related changes. I've not noticed any long delays in loading the airport cache though. Definitely agree it's worth checking the change log before running any updates as Umberto has understandably de-prioritised GSX for P3D.
November 17, 20223 yr Changing the time and day while in the sim is in effect re-starting P3D for addons GSX will reload. The same is true of any other addon you may be running. Raymond Fry.

I think the GSX behaviour has changed - I also got an 'airport cache reloaded' message while at cruise level so there may have been changes to the logic IMO.
November 17, 20223 yr Author Thanks guys. I thought it was P3D itself with the problem. Hope the next GSX update comes soon and it fixes the freezing.

It probably starts from an Addon so some detective work required. That will also remove (temporarily) any FSDT airport. Ray (Cheshire, England). November 19, 20223 yr I've just started getting CTDs and the only two things I've updated in the past few months are Navigraph FMC data updates and GSX. I don't want to blame GSX unfairly but it has had significant updates (and issues, if I'm reading correctly - some of which I've seen myself.) GSX is an essential piece of software for me, and has been tremendous value, especially with its constant updates and improvements - is there a way to roll back to a stable version that anyone knows? I get so little time to fly and I'm not sure when I'd have time to go into full detective mode... Thanks, Daniel
November 19, 20223 yr Don't know if things are the same, but I was also getting CTDs. Deleted the shaders folder and the CTDs went away. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library

It could be a Windows update causing issues assuming you haven't changed anything else. Try clearing the shaders, deleting all content from users\yourname\local\appdata\temp, clearing the DX shader cache using disc cleanup and if that doesn't work, delete the p3d.cfg and see if that helps. Make sure to export your control settings first.
