December 7, 20223 yr If I am not mistaken, the Cabri is the only heli which has been designed with the new SU11 FDE architecture. The 3rd party freeware were designed with a modified airplane FDE and I suspect, the Nemeth too. For the latter, on my 2560*1440 display, the front panel gauges are a little blurry reeking of a portover. Hence it would make sense that the Cabri reacts to the new axis bindings and not her predecessors. December 7, 20223 yr And it's the Cabri I fly the most, maybe because of this. I do hope the other helicopters will adapt its DNA.

December 7, 20223 yr Ok, I assigned all helicopter specific controls to my devices and didn't notice a big change. Maybe indeed the cyclic, which I think I feel it is a bit less aggressive. But I don't know. Maybe it's because I read it here. 🙂
December 8, 20223 yr Don´t forget to set in options the specific for copters, search cyclic axis and heli tail rotor axis and collective axis, not the equivalent in planes, then the heli is much more stable, smooth. Set too the trim buttons for more stable cruises, trim it, and then fly and move the cyclic stick more comfy.

Maybe it's because I've already built muscle memory with the default settings. I don't take helicopters for longer cruises than 30 minutes. So I hardly need any trimming. It's much more flying circuits and do precision landings what I do. I'm now in a fase where I come in over a runway at high speed and do a 90 degree turn, making use of that big air bubble to break mid air and land on a taxiway. That's what I often see at the helicopter base nearby or in the field. It looks spectacular. 🙂 Edited December 9, 20223 yr by bvdboomen
December 9, 20223 yr @bvdboomenI recommend too already in the 407 this mod https://flightsim.to/file/43693/bell-407-improvement-mod
December 9, 20223 yr Thank you Peloto. It indeed handles the landings different, not easier perse. Is this mod change to the maker's liking or more realistic behavior?

I think the mod is more realistic (experience flying as passenger, not pilot, and tons of experience from X-Plane helicopters – the verified helicopters, not the default thing that Laminar released). Also it's a lot faster (as it should be), with my only gripes being startup (and throttle position etc) is incredibly poorly done (on default, and mod doesn't interface with this aspect) and the mod's tail rotor is quite slow to respond to inputs. But it's a lot better than default. A lot.
