Are today's athlete's better than yesterday's athletes?

Speaking of hydration how times change. I played football in high school, (well actually practiced more then I played😂). That was in the hot late summer heat in Columbus Georgia. In those days no water breaks for an entire practice. I think they considered that conditioning. This is kids 14 to 17 getting sick and throwing up. "Coaches called it feeding the birds". I remember once a bunch of us lined up at a fountain after practice and the coach yelling at us " get away from there. Yall haven't done anything to deserve water. In the Army basic training was similar. You only took a drink when they told you to and no more swallows than they said.

Today's athletes have become half athlete and half super model

I don’t know about the super model part 😂😂

I do agree though about the endorsements. Tiger has made way more off endorsements than his actually winnings on the course, as have many other top athletes.

This was the article I read about it recently:
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/08/sports/ncaabasketball/olivia-dunne-haley-jones-endorsements.html

Yes a young amature athlete can make a million dollars before they even win anything in their sport. Like I said I still think Mary Lou Retton is the better athlete because with her it was all about her abilities as an athlete and not the highlights in her hair 🤣

But good for young people for making that kind of money
