Brand new PC Build, Landing stutters remain

Sim stops for a second or two and then continues.

I wouldn’t even call that stuttering, it’s just a plain freeze. It happens to me too, in random places. I just put it down to the MSFS servers. Nothing you do can get rid of it, that I know of.

No Fauna should actually not create a hit unless you fly over the Brooklyn zoo or Okavango delta. I for myself have never seen any fauna flying with the Fenix or PMDG 🙂

This has been a on off problem for me too from 500ft down to mid rollout.

I have been testing with dialled back settings and videoing approaches to see if any last minute scenery loads are causing the stutters/grabs.

Tried to lower road vehicles to 5, as these are notoriously late-loading with freeways right under your nose at 200feet.

What I think is happening is - as you get right down lower the PG is getting closer to the aircraft and sharpening up resolution (ie un-melting)  and your connection is getting pushed hard to bring all the last minute data so it stutters at some point. If it happens without PG then I'm out of ideas ! 🙂

I am starting to think that PG is overrated when flying to tier 1 airports as how often in mid final approach in the A320 do I turn around and look at PG. Not ever really. PG off gives me +5 to 8 FPS generally so might try and see if I can run with it for a while.

@mholden020 I'm not an expert but I do  think you are pushing some settings (mostly traffic). My settings (in BOLD) compared to yours.

Traffic Settings
- Traffic Type:  AI Offline   ----> OFF when using FSLTL or REAL-TIME ONLINE
- AI Aircraft Density:  0
- Vehicle Density:  44     ----> 5
- Gnd Aircraft Density:  60 ----> 0
- Worker Density:  50 -----> 15
- Boats/Road Vehicles/Ships:  50 -----> 0 / 10 / 30
- Fauna: 100 (will definitely turn this down to zero after posting this) ----> 30
- Generic Models:  On for AI, Off for Multi
- Traffic Variety:  Ultra

Y'all have made my day.  Bumping these down helped immensely to the point where I've been able to move the LODs up to 100 with no stutters at all.  I also tried the Photogrammetry option and that was also a big step towards the good but it was such a huge step I'm going to hold that one in my back pocket and test with it "ON" for now, but that does seem to make a huge difference.  Curiously, DX11 introduced more stutters, so for now I'm going to leave it on DX12.

As it is right now though, I think this is now in a spot where I can do some test flights and then slowly bump things back up to see where the sweet spot is.  Thank you all so, so much for the help!!

Hmm, well it's to early to say for for sure but I turned off the Win11 desktop background constantly changing and these pauses have stopped for me. Just flown to Barcelona without a glitch whereas before I would get random  stutters. Choose a static desktop picture or whatever it's called and see for yourself.

I’ve had plain black desktop background for years 🙂

Hello again!  Everything's running pretty well, just fine-tuning various settings to see what I can get out of it, but I've got this fun new thing going on where airport ground textures aren't fully loading around the aircraft.  I'm not sure which setting triggered this, I'm hoping someone has seen this and knows what I've done.  The image below is Charlotte with add-on scenery from the Marketplace, but I've also seen it at KJFK & KDFW (Asobo scenery airports).  Flying the camera drone around will usually cause texture "blocks" to pop in and out, but I usually cannot get the blocks around the aircraft, like those pictured, to update no matter where I have the camera.  Thanks again everyone!!

Does deleting the Rolling Cache change this at all?

Unfortunately not 😞

It does seem to be loading the missing squares a few at a time whenever I load the airport, so I suppose after a few times I'll have the whole airport.  Not a big deal then
