Can Anything Surpass MSFS?

Featured Replies

Thread title: Can Anything Surpass MSFS?

You: "What does that have to do with the topic??"

The topic is comparing MSFS to everything else which is exactly what I did, however briefly. The world updates in MSFS compared to their lack in X-plane.

But I see your point I was 'taking a shot' instead of a comparison, point taken.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I can think of people in the P3D, X-Plane, Aerofly, Flight Gear, DCS forums who would readily disagree with you.  It's all a matter of opinion.

Examples please.  Note I'm not easily convinced and only know what I know.

Oh boy.  Ok.  I know what the thread title says.

Are you saying that your response was a legitimate response?  By taking a shot at X-Plane?  He asked if there is anything that can surpass MSFS.  Your response is not answering his thread title.  In any way.

Wait a second.  Are you saying that people who are dedicated DCS, X-Plane, P3D, Aerofly users, would agree with your assessment?

You have an opinion.  Not everyone agrees with it.  That's the point of opinions.  Your opinion doesn't trump everyone else who doesn't agree with it.  To assume it does, would be extremely arrogant.

If you want examples, just go to those forums or youtube channels, and you'll find plenty.

How about we don't make this a my sim vs your sim thread?  It'd be nice.

What is xplane?  Some sort of 3rd person shooter?

I would have liked to see a lot more by now.  But maybe they're still coming in.  WT have done incredible work, but it's nothing other 3rd party devs haven't been doing before.  Reality XP.  ActiveSky.  etc...

This is correct.  But it leaves everyone without a 4000 series GPU, with nothing but hopes and dreams.  Also DLSS 3 is only compatible with GTX cards.

They would have done much better by using FSR.  It's newer tech, and cross compatible with all GPU's.  Even on board Intel GPU's.

That's like someone saying that you would have done better by developing for MSFS, as opposed to XP.

Bcuz like the OP implied, nothing can surpass MSFS...

Ok, Thanks for letting me, and the rest of us know.  Happy that you found what suits your needs

As the thread starter, it might be best to stick to the thread title.  Just sayin'.

The minute MSFS starts losing money, don't be surprised if Microsoft puts shareholders before flight simmers.  MSFS is making chump change compared to other Microsoft titles, and they wouldn't hesitate to dump MSFS purely because of a bad mood.  They've done it before.

My impression was that back in the FSX days they felt that gaming on PC was detrimental to the MS attempts to cultivate an image as the go-to big corporate Enterprise OS and that all future gaming titles should be limited to just XBox .

Do you really think I haven't been told that?

It happens on a weekly basis.  My response is always, never say never.

I'm not really interested in clicking a link to another post.  I have absolutely nothing against Matt.  He's a genuine, stand-up guy, whose work ethic is admirable.  As a matter of fact, I'm in the WT discord, and when people have objected to having other flight sim screenshots posted in there, he told them all screenshots from all sims are welcome.  As I said, Matt, and the rest of WT, have done outstanding work.

Without revealing too much, MS Flight killed the MSFS series. I always like adding sources to my comments, because I hate speculation, but in this case, things were told to me in confidence.

Not true, WT & Asobo is giving us these updates and functionality free / stock in MSFS. You have to pay for other 3rd party enhancements.

Another reason why...nothing surpasses MSFS.

And it's causing ripples in the 3rd party payware pool.  I don't blame WT for it.  They're getting paid.  But payware devs are, shall we say, mildly miffed that payware quality stock additions are coming out.

Lol, ok.  If you say so.  If that's one of your benchmarks, ok.

Audi make some of the finest cars in the world.  I'm still not buying one.  No matter what they put in it.  But, like MSFS, that might change.  In Audi's case, if my bank balance swells to the point where I can justify spending $80k on a vehicle.

Hey man all I know is…

I get a stock TBM with a superior G3000 with MSFS. What other sim gives me that????

I surely don’t want to have to pay for an additional and limited G1000 version on another platform…

Another reason why….nothing surpasses MSFS
