February 5, 20233 yr *RANT* So, I figured I would replace my three year old Corsair H150i 360. After some research I opted for the Arctic Liquid Freezer II with a 360mm rad. Got the product from an online reseller. I installed it as per instructions and booted the computer. Everything worked super! I had *WAY* better temps than before. Idling at 35C. A two hour flight in MSFS kept my 5900x <70 degrees C where the Corsair could at times visit way north of 80. Very, very happy to say the least. Two weeks later the computer started dying on me while idling at the desktop. Booting into BIOS I watched in horror as the CPU temp slowly climbed up to ludicrous levels before either I shut it down or it did all by itself as designed. 'This was odd' I thought to myself and nose dived into the chassis to see what was up. The cables were as they were supposed to be. The mounting was good, so I removed the cooling block from the CPU and my spread of paste looked good enough. I cleaned the CPU and the block and reset with new MX-6 paste and reset the cooler but sadly the issue persists. The fans on the radiator spins, the little fan on the block spins. But I can't really hear the pump nor feel any movement in the tubes. I guess the pump has seized on me. After two weeks of glorious cooling. Doing some 'internet research' it seems I am not alone in this as there are some threads on various forums describing exactly this scenario: good performance for a couple of weeks then 'barbecue time, baby!'. Seems I am in for an RMA, and the retailer don't have the cooler in question in stock. Kind of bummed but it seems I'll be without a computer for some time. Contemplating bringing the H150 out of retirement for the time being but it is a bit of a chore to clean and reset it into my case only to remove it again in a couple of weeks, so I might be too lazy. Anyone else had this issue after such a short while or even later? In my 20 years of building my computers I've had three hardware failures (one PSU, one GPU and one HDD - and not at the same time). */RANT* tldr; AIO seem to have died on me and faulty pump seems the only reasonable explanation. Bummed out. Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
February 5, 20233 yr Yikes! That sucks. I have this cooler too... my build is one week old. Now I'm going to be on eggshells for another week while I await infant mortality of mine. 😬 [email protected] - ROG Strix Z790-E - 2X16Gb G.Skill Trident DDR5 6400 CL32 - MSI RTX 4090 Suprim X - WD SN850X 2 TB M.2 - XPG S70 Blade 2 TB M.2 - MSI A1000G PCIE5 1000 W 80+ Gold PSU - Liam Li 011 Dynamic Razer case - 58" Panasonic TC-58AX800U 4K - Pico 4 VR HMD - WinWing HOTAS Orion2 MAX - ProFlight Pedals - TrackIR 5 - W11 Pro (Passmark:12574, CPU:63110-Single:4785, GPU:50688)

I wasn't exactly drowned by threads with people suffering from this. Just a handful. It's a shame, though because the cooler knocked my socks off until it decided to die on me. February 5, 20233 yr The Deep Cool AIOs are well reviewed, I have the 240mm model on my 13600K at 5.4Ghz, all whilst undervolted. Temps in MSFS are currently in the low 50s.
February 5, 20233 yr Umm...might be something with the current manufacturing. I've had my Arctic Liquid Freezer II since 2020, last year moving it to a new build. Been working great for me with no issues. My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

My unit is a rev 3 so it's a couple of revisions behind to the best of my understanding but yeah, given the relatively low number of complaints I've come across I seem to be an outlier. February 6, 20233 yr Sometimes it's just luck of the draw. I had a Corsair AIO have the pump fail after I installed it onto a new setup. It happens. I'm waiting for the EK Nucleus to come back into stock. That'll be my next AIO when I change to 7950X3D. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
February 7, 20233 yr I have a Corsair H100i AIO that was installed on my overclocked 9900K almost 4 yrs ago. My CPU temps hit low 80's max running MSFS. I'd have to review a log but I think the nominal temps are 65 - 75. I'm thinking of taking it off, cleaning then repasteing but I'll probably replace the CPU / MB / MEM in about a year. Should I take the risk of screwing it up or is 80's OK for another year? Removing, clean and repasting is a fairly trivial task that's pretty hard to screw up and paste does dry out over time. I'd do it. Watch a video or two first. Get 99% isopropyl alcohol and a coffee filter (to avoid lint) to clean off the old paste. Seems like Gamers Nexus or one of those guys (JayzTwoCents, Paul's Hardware, etc.) reported on it. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
