I assume there is an agreement with Google for selling the color enhanced sattelite tiles to 3rd parties? I am trying it now for a month to see if it is better than the free version. So far I'm positive. Especially the bare farmlands which looked kind of muddy even in sunlight, have improved in most places. Color differences between adjacent areas also seem less.

March 13, 20233 yr I was an avid user of this and had it running on my flights over a span of six months, whenever I'd fly. Lately, in the middle of my flights, MSFS would report that "online services were unavailable" and I was confused since my internet was working fine. The world coverage also started to get blurry (whatever areas that weren't cached). Turns out Google started to throttle me on satellite internet images against my IP, and Google Maps' satellite or hybrid view wouldn't work on my network for about a day before Google's block expired. Word of caution if you do a lot of flying, I think Google's starting to notice this kind of traffic as more users adopt to this program. Edited March 13, 20233 yr by AeroMaster12

Pro version has darker images, and the newest data. You also have the ability to use Apple Maps and Mapbox but I found Google Pro to be most to my liking. 10900KF @ 5.2Ghz, 2070 Super, 32GB 3200Mhz, Gigabyte M28U 4K Monitor - MSFS: Terrain LOD: 200, Object LOD: 100

Make sure MSFS is always in focus. Don't let it run minimized (in taskbar) for too long. Google will notice that and block with port 80 or something.
March 13, 20233 yr I tried it and reverted back to default. Around my area, the Google data was captured in early spring or late fall so it has snow on the ground at low elevations year round, which his bad, and then there's noticable Google watermarks on the terrain which was horrible. At least for me, the cure was worse than the disease. You can easily correct the green color cast with a quick visit to your display picture settings (or using reshade if you're super ambitious) and hand crafted scenery is going to be required using either solution for a great experience anyway.

As an avid user of this mod I agree completely. As a general rule of thumb, I use Google maps in the USA and Bing maps in Europe. However, the Bing maps that this mod uses are the latest Bing maps, not the outdated ones that the stock sim offers.
