Heads up to my fellow DLSS Swapper Guinea Pigs

Recommended Posts

Didn't change a thing at my end, Rift s. Panels in PMDG 737 are still way to blurry to read. Tried v3.1.11 and v3.1.1(v2), both the same.

Back to TAA where I can read all the text in the Panels/FMC without having to lean forward at all. In all the DLSS modes, even Quality, I have to get my face within one foot of the FMC to read the text. Sharpening doesn't help one bit.

Got a CTD when I went to the newest version of this (have a 3090 card) while using DX12 and went back to stock.

After setting DLLS there are 6 options related: Auto, balance, performance, ultra performance, quality and DLAA, I can imagine how the first 5 work, but know noting about DLAA, can somebody explain it ? . In my case I cannot notice diferences between quality and DLAA.- Thanks

Just a reminder that when Asobo does major updates, they may also automatically revert your DLSS backwards to a previous version, which you may or may not find desirable.

DLAA, not the standalone version but the one mentioned under the DLSS options, is basically DLSS without the upscaling part, i.e native resolution. So it uses the AI for pure anti-aliasing and it's hands down the best AA in MSFS outside of throwing resolution / raw upscaling at it.

I’m using TAA and FG, I cannot stand the blurry DUs in the PMDG 73 that is caused by DLSS.

Does this have benefits for 3 series as well as 4 series cards?

I guess not, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Well just been testing it out with 3070ti and recent DLLs and DLSS DLAA mode aren't really doing anything to improve the blurry screen displays so still a no-go for me.

Got an screenshot example of said blurry screens?

A month ago, I enabled DLSS and found it to provide sharper details at a distance compared to TAA which simply didn't render some finer details. A good examples of details that disappeared with TAA were some of the finer poles, cross-bars, or supports for antennas, various runway lights, or radio beacons, or even wind socks.  However, switching to DLSS created slightly blurry cockpit labels and ghosting on the ticker.

So I then updated my DLSS DLL and that seemed to improve things.

Then I upgraded my system and rebuilt from scratch. Now with the DLSS DLL included with the game, it's as sharp as can be. I dunno. This sim is a dark art in optimization. 🙄

You can just continue to use TAA and still utilize frame generation. I literally get no performance difference between TAA and DLSS with MSFS. TAA with FG, no glass cockpit blurring and I literally doubled my FPS going from a 3080Ti to a 4090..

Yep thats my config of choice as well.  TAA + FG = gigantic FPS boost and no blurry displays.
