I hear pilots reporting lasing almost nightly here in Phoenix, Arizona.  I can't believe it happens so much.  You'd think the felony and federal penalty associated with it would deter people.

I don't understand what motivates these people. I mean why? A pointless and dangerous activity.

I suspect its just one or two repeat offenders. 

I have come to the conclusion that a significant portion of our population is simply stupid.

They knew it was wrong.  This week I was off for 5 days from work (I work 12 hour days) and heard one night they were at the very outskirts of the city towards the west, and last night they were north of the city.  They're clearly trying to evade being caught.   A green laser two nights ago and a blue one last night.  They even hit the police helicopter we have up.

I've been enjoying viewing the "Traffic Cops 2023" episodes posted on YouTube. In the introduction to each episode they feature some of the worst and most ridiculous traffic violations and dangerous driving I've ever seen!

And that is saying something that UK drivers are even worse than drivers featured on the Arkansas State Troopers videos!!!

Ahh, someone else who watches ASP chase speeders 🤣  Those videos are addicting.  When I was in Ireland they had a show from the UK where they chased a speeder.  It was crazy how fast they were going on such a little road.  The car got away by driving up onto a walkway and in this tiny little hole to a new road.  The cop had to stop chasing lmao.

What helps to end their lethal games these days is the helicopter over head, with the "Spectrolab SX-16 Nightsun" and FLIR gear. 

I've often wondered why they don't have some kind of EM pulse device fitted to a police cars or helicopters, that scrambles the cars engine comp.

Ask and ye shall receive.  Behold, such a device has been invented.  But there are issues with such a thing regarding vehicles with electronic or electronic assisted braking or steering systems.

When I was about 17, I was thinking about how we could enhance the capabilities of PV cells. I came up with an idea for lenses mounted above solar cells. Awesome idea I thought. Then, a decade or so later, NASA came up with a solar cell with Fresnel lenses mounted above. 🙄

The there was my brick laying tool invention. Easy peazy, lay it on the course of bricks, slop on the mortar, pull it out, job done, perfect brick laying. Yep, you guessed it, some time later somebody beat me to it. 😄
