MK Studios Dublin v1 NOT updated for new runway.

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: The P3D version of EIDW will not be updated. Disregard the following.

This was posted on MK Studios Facebook page yesterday.

Dublin v 1.2.0
- AFCAD fixes,
- Visual improvements to the new runway area,
- Further compatibility and stability update.
This is the last update for Dublin v1.

v1 is for P3D v4 onwards. Nice to see they haven't abandoned P3D users. It's the last update for P3D but I imagine most of us can live with that. The addition of the second runway was the important thing.

I have looked everywhere (Orbx, Simmarket) to try to find the updated Dublin scenery with RWY28R / 10L but the most up to date version is 1.3.0 for me which is strange because in their FB post they mention 1.2.0 with the updated runway. Orbx also does not show any updates for Dublin scenery...

If you look at the responses on the Facebook page, you will notice that someone states that the new runway is not included in the update. It seems that they have "cleaned up" the new runway area in v1 (which I assume means the "under construction" part of the photoscenery).

They don't make it clear what simulators they're updating but given v1 was compatible with P3D and they have recently updated Lisbon with the new runway designators I took it that they would include P3D.

Here's what they said... "Afternoon Captains! We updated a few of our scenery this week. The files were delivered to vendors and should be available soon.

Please note that the Marketplace verification process may take some extra time. The good news is that both Dublin v2 and Philadelphia are being verified now so we hope to release them soon."

Vague? Possibly. I'll read the replies shortly.

Searching SimMarket for Dublin reveals no version is now available for P3D. Other MK Studios P3D airports for Ireland remain. And this on their own website confirms it. "This product is no longer available."

Given they have withdrawn it from sale it seems unlikely any update for the new runways will be forthcoming.

What we need is someone proficient in designing new AFCADs. How well that would blend into the existing scenery is unknown.

From my Simmarket updater, it shows MSFS version 1 with the changelog. Very confusing as I have version 2 for MSFS but it still advised me of the update.

I do not think we will see any further p3d updates from MK Studios based on their recent comments regarding LIRF where they stated all P3d development is on hold.

Looks like the end of the line for Dublin in Prepar3D. RIP.

Not really, if you read this part:

Clearly a reference to the MSFS Marketplace.

@SierraDelta, I quoted the same in my earlier post. They never said P3D would be excluded so it was reasonable to assume it would be included.

They posted this… “Afternoon Captains! We updated a few of our scenery this week. ”

If they’d qualified it with MSFS scenery it would have been perfectly clear. They didn’t and consequently it wasn’t.

Do we have any news on Dublin? Or I'll have to settle with the old version?

I've 'known' that the P3D version was not going to be updated for almost over a year now.

Not 100% sure but I think I read it on their FB page when they were announcing their upcoming V2 for that other sim.

I know I read it somewhere........?
