AI traffic and ATC.

Good evening (well, at least it's evening here in Sweden).

I really like my big PMDG birds. Got P3D up and running nicely along simzilla and XP. However my skies are empty and I would like to change that. It's been a long time since I really dabbled in P3D. What is the go to solution for the question in the title of the thread?

For AI traffic I recommend Alpha India Group AI manager / Traffic controller. It's freeware, very filled with AI flight plans and a lot of 3D models. I use it myself. btw, it is a little tricky to install, but they have a forum, also you need to log in / register in certain web pages, like Avsim Library and Flightsim.org. There is a certain links that you will have to visit, but be mindful part of them are broken and needs to be fixed in order to download part of the files. Btw, no worries, you can ask me. I am aware and I can help.

I third the previous suggestions. As a bonus you have me as a Controller in RC4 telling you off every time you do something you shouldn’t. 😁

Start off with just a few airlines in AIG so you get the feel for it. There are over 1,000 different airlines and private jets. Every airport you visit will have some Ai once you get established.

Don't overload your AI if you don't want your CPU overheating is my advice. I loaded every AI plane available and set the Controller at 100% and P3D kept shutting down every few minutes.  Reduce to 50% and everything now running fine.

ATC mentioned in a thread and of course there’s Ray right on queue with Radar Contact 😂

And deservedly so, Radar Contact is a pretty reasonable program.

Here's a short vid (4:30) showing a section of flight from Welshpool EGCW to Shoreham EGKA with Radar contact in use.

Cheers 🙂

Just to clarify what you can hear in Rogen’s video. It’s a mixture of real-world recordings and RC instructions.

The real world ones are optional and cover clearance, ground, tower for a specific airport, and airborne. I recorded them for EGCC many years ago.
